In the last post, I mentioned my completion list, so I wanted to put that here before I get into the individual Yakuza games. These are the series and individual games on what I’m calling my official playthrough list. This is nowhere near a complete list of everything I’ve beaten. I’ve been playing games for about four decades, and there’s a lot that I’ve played that isn’t on here. I used to obsess over backlogs and completion lists. I got rid of all that. Now I keep a simple list of the series I’ve deliberately worked through and the individual games that were really iconic to me. Once I’ve done that official playthrough, I can keep up with the series going forward instead of trying to keep track of every single thing I’ve ever played. That doesn’t mean I’ve played every new release the moment it comes out. Some of these have newer games I still need to get to, and I’m not claiming every DLC, trophy, achievement, or version of every game is finished. This is just how I keep track of my own playthroughs. Fallout is a good example of something that isn’t on the list. I’ve been a Fallout fan forever. There’s not a single Fallout game I haven’t played the hell out of, but I’ve always played them randomly and out of order. I’ve never sat down and done what I consider an official playthrough all the way from the first one to the most recent. Eventually I’ll do that and add it to the list, but not yet. The Elder Scrolls is another one. I put 800 hours into Morrowind, hundreds and hundreds into Oblivion, and probably thousands into Skyrim. But I’ve never sat down and done the deep playthrough I want to do, including the first two games. That’s something I still want to get around to. So there are entire series I’ve beaten that aren’t listed here. There are also games I’ve played extensively that I might eventually go back through in a different way. Leaving something off this list doesn’t mean I haven’t played it. Here’s the current list. Series: • A Plague Tale • Assassin’s Creed • Dishonored • DOOM • Far Cry • Gears of War • Halo • Hotline Miami • inFAMOUS • Mass Effect • Metro • Shadowrun video games • Spider-Man video games • Tomb Raider • Uncharted • Watch Dogs • Mafia • Vampire: The Masquerade • Wolfenstein • Yakuza / Like a Dragon Individual notable games: • Crimson Desert • Pragmata • Children of Morta Normally when I add something to this list, I keep up with the games as they come out. I’m a little behind on a few of them, like for example, I still have to play Gears of War E-Day and I still have to play the new Plague Tale. But both of those are on my list to catch up on, and I always kind of keep track of them as they come out. I’ll keep adding to this as I do those playthroughs. And when I talk about a series here on X, I’ll go into what I actually played, what stood out to me, and whatever guides or checklists I put together along the way. Yakuza / Like a Dragon is the big one I want to get into next.
