**Far Cry 6 Amigos: Where to Find the Five Companions and Unlock Their Abilities**
Guapo is ready to fight almost as soon as you meet him. Chorizo would rather persuade a soldier to look the other way. Choosing between them changes the approach before you have fired a shot.
The base campaign has five recruitable Amigos: **Guapo, Chorizo, Chicharrón, Boom Boom and Oluso**. Each has three additional abilities with its own training requirement. Those counters care about what the companion does, so check the Amigos menu when a challenge seems to be moving slowly.
This guide covers those five recruitment routes and all fifteen of their additional abilities. K-9000 and Champagne are add-on companions, discussed separately at the end.
**Guapo: the first recruit**
Continue the opening on **Isla Santuario** to **Juan of a Kind**. You meet Juan and Guapo around the bar in **Armonía**, and the story introduces the crocodile as your companion. There is no distant collectible hunt required.
Guapo's basic advantage is his ability to recover and get himself back into a fight. His training extends that durability:
- **Body Regulation:** let Guapo revive himself **five times**. He then regenerates health during combat.
- **Cornered Beast:** have him regenerate **3,000 health in combat**. He gains damage resistance when below **50% health**.
- **Reptile Metabolism:** have Guapo kill **50 targets**. His self-revival restores **90% health**.
For the first challenge, give him the chance to use his own revival rather than immediately intervening every time he goes down. For the health-regeneration challenge, bring him to ordinary fights where he can remain involved. You do not need to engineer a disastrous battle just to make the number move.
Guapo suits a loud approach where another close-range threat can divide the soldiers' attention. Keep your own position useful while he is fighting. Running directly behind him can leave both of you exposed to the same enemies.
**Chorizo: Montero Farm and a crocodile dinner**
Complete **Meet the Monteros** in **Madrugada**, then find Chorizo at **Montero Farm**, beside his doghouse near the construction area.
1. Pet him to begin **Who's a Good Boy?**
2. Read the note by the doghouse.
3. Obtain **one piece of crocodile meat**. The quest marks a hunting area roughly south of the farm.
4. Return and place it in his bowl.
5. Start **Fetch Quest** and follow Chorizo around the farm as he leads you to his finds.
Finishing that short chain recruits him. His job is distraction and exploration support rather than winning a gunfight on his own.
- **Bloodhound:** have Chorizo distract **10 enemies**. He can then mark nearby crafting materials.
- **Yes, You Can:** have him tag **36 loot containers**. Petting him can restore **Dani's** health.
- **Keen Senses:** use that healing ability **50 times**. Chorizo can dig up resources.
The distinction in the middle ability matters: the petting heals Dani. If Dani is already healthy, repeatedly petting Chorizo is not a useful way to work on a healing challenge.
Let him do the relevant action before you finish the encounter or empty the area. For distraction, direct his attention toward a guard and watch for the reaction. For container tagging, take him through places that still contain supplies and check whether the counter advances. The challenge is tied to his contribution, not simply to having him summoned while Dani collects things.
**Chicharrón: three jobs on the Vacia Coast**
After establishing contact with the Legends in **El Este**, head to **Álvarez Farm**, on the **Vacia Coast in Sierra Perdida**, and speak with **Reinaldo**.
The recruitment chain is:
- **Man's Best Enemy**
- **Pecking Orders**
- **Wingman**
Stay with Chicharrón and complete the objectives across the three missions. Treat the chain as an escort through several increasingly conspicuous acts of destruction. Watch the threats near the rooster rather than running ahead merely because the next marker is visible.
His abilities are built around staying aggressive while injured:
- **Roid Rage:** **12 kills** unlock faster attacks and double damage below **70% health**.
- **Angrier Bird:** have him kill **24 enemies while Roid Rage is active**. His leaping attack can then knock enemies down.
- **Chicken Feet:** have him knock down **50 enemies with Angrier Bird**. He gains better evasion during Roid Rage.
The second counter is conditional. Ordinary kills at full health do not fulfill the same requirement. The third asks for knockdowns, so use his upgraded attack rather than treating Dani's total kills as progress for the bird.
**Boom Boom: follow the barking in Feroza**
Unlock **Camp Máximas** through **Meet Máximas Matanzas**. Read the shipment note on a post near the camp's foreman to begin **Boom or Bust**.
Follow the search area to **Feroza in Balaceras**. Look among the shipping containers and listen for barking. Open the blue container with the dog inside to finish the rescue and recruit Boom Boom.
His basic role is collecting resources from defeated enemies. The upgrades turn him into a more useful scout:
- **Pointer:** have him collect resources from **10 dead enemies**. He begins tagging soldiers and animals.
- **Expert Tracker:** have him tag **24 animals**. His tagging range increases.
- **Thick Coat:** have him tag **50 enemies**. His durability improves.
For Expert Tracker, make an actual wildlife trip. Patrolling military bases alone is a poor plan for a counter that specifically requires animals. Travel slowly enough for Boom Boom to keep up and do the tagging.
For the first upgrade, leave bodies for him to search. If Dani clears the area and immediately strips every defeated enemy, there is less opportunity for his collection ability to contribute.
**Oluso: finish Triada Blessings**
Visit **Oluwa Cave on Isla Santuario**, east of Clara's camp, and begin the **Triada Blessings** chain. It leads to three relic hunts:
- **Ída's Triada Relic** in Madrugada.
- **Okú's Triada Relic** in Valle de Oro.
- **Mimo Abosi's Triada Relic** in El Este.
Bring the relics back to Oluwa Cave and complete the final sequence there. Oluso joins alongside the chain's other rewards. The individual cave and puzzle solutions deserve their own route; this is the recruitment checklist so you can see the whole requirement before setting off.
Oluso is a stealth attacker, with upgrades that reward using her against enemies in the appropriate places:
- **Mimo Abosi's Luck:** **12 kills in restricted areas** improve her stealth-takedown success.
- **Rage of Ida:** **24 takedown kills** let successful takedowns frighten nearby enemies.
- **Mist of Oku:** frighten **50 enemies** through that ability. At low health, her smoke protection improves survival, concealment and recovery.
For the first counter, choose military-controlled restricted ground rather than assuming every hostile soldier anywhere counts. For the fear challenge, a completely isolated target provides fewer nearby witnesses. Look for a manageable group with a safe approach, then let the effect spread before moving to the next target.
**Add-on companions and choosing who to bring**
**K-9000** belongs to the Blood Dragon equipment content associated with the Season Pass. **Champagne** belongs to the Vice Pack within the Ultimate Pack. They are separate entitlements, so completing the five recruitment chains above will not unlock them. Check the content you own rather than assuming one add-on grants the other. [Companion and pack breakdown](https://t.co/gwoCexAHaa).
For the five campaign recruits, match the companion to the next activity. Chorizo helps create a distraction. Boom Boom supports looting and scouting. Guapo and Chicharrón suit a direct fight. Oluso gives a stealth attack another route.
Training goes more smoothly when it fits the trip you were already taking. Read the next counter, bring the right companion and leave them room to do the work.
