**Far Cry 3 Letters of the Lost: all 20 locations, with the entrances that matter** Spoiler scope: collectible locations and their weapon reward. No campaign ending spoilers. A letter icon can put Jason directly above the object while leaving a cliff, bunker roof or several meters of rock between him and the body holding it. When the marker looks right and the collectible is nowhere in sight, start looking for an entrance. There are 20 Letters of the Lost. Six unlock the Japanese Tanto, available from a vendor; the complete set earns Dead Letters. They also tell a wartime story through the remains of the soldiers who occupied these positions. The coordinates below are approximate map targets. They identify the site, not a guarantee that the entrance is directly on the same spot. Use the access note before climbing onto a roof or dropping down a cliff. **Western and central northern island** These make a sensible first group while the campaign is still centered on the early settlements. Finish whichever sites are close to your current fast-travel points rather than following the list in numerical order at any cost. - **Letter 1: X435, Y646** Search beside the artillery piece. - **Letter 2: X363, Y710** Enter the bunker beside the large gun. - **Letter 3: X460, Y767** Find the cave opening north of the marker, near the road. - **Letter 4: X380, Y741** Use the bunker's eastern doorway; check the left side inside. - **Letter 5: X530, Y742** Find the cave south of the marker, beneath the road. - **Letter 6: X601, Y621** Search the beach bunker south of Hubris Farm. For the Tanto alone, these six provide a clear early target set. They still involve travel, so collect the ones near missions and hunts you already intend to do. A dedicated cross-island trip can wait until the surrounding roads and travel points are more convenient. **Northern and eastern coastal sites** Several of these sit in old military positions. The approach can be more awkward than the pickup itself. - **Letter 7: X682, Y811** In the bunker north of AM 12; take the first left inside. - **Letter 8: X630, Y646** Look beneath the wooden platform concealing a dugout. - **Letter 9: X633, Y602** Enter the northern bunker at the site. - **Letter 10: X703, Y575** Search inside the coastal bunker. - **Letter 11: X799, Y750** Approach the bunker along the small path from the southwestern road. - **Letter 12: X801, Y756** Find the shoreline cave by the wooden bridge and follow it inward. - **Letter 13: X778, Y619** The body is inside the bunker. Letters 11 and 12 are close enough on the map to consider together, but their entrances are different. Finish one, return to a usable path and then approach the other. Trying to cut straight through the terrain between two nearby icons can take longer than using the road and shore. At letter 8, check the slope around the wooden cover. At letter 12, the water's edge is the clue. Those are the kinds of sites where standing on the marker encourages searching in the wrong place. **Southern-island cleanup** The story has to open the southern island before this group becomes part of a normal collection route. Once you can travel there, combine the northern coastal sites with your established fast-travel network, then make separate southern and western trips. - **Letter 14: X603, Y458** Inside the bunker on the hill. - **Letter 15: X471, Y418** Descend through the ground opening; search the rocks beside the water below. - **Letter 16: X529, Y400** Look in the grass beside the large cannon. - **Letter 17: X408, Y499** Search the old coastal gun emplacement. - **Letter 18: X375, Y315** Look west of the bunker for the small cave entrance in the cliff. - **Letter 19: X237, Y426** East of Gaztown, take the ladder by the small shack into the trench. - **Letter 20: X497, Y501** Enter the shoreline bunker's western side and go downstairs. Letter 15 is an underground pickup. Letter 18 is another roof-versus-doorway problem. For letter 19, the ladder matters more than the main building. Keeping those distinctions in mind avoids three very similar searches in places where the collectible is actually below or beside the obvious landmark. **Finish with the record, not memory** After each pickup, let the notification appear and cross off that site. If you stop halfway, record the completed numbers before leaving the session. Revisiting an empty bunker is harmless, but it becomes irritating after the third or fourth unnecessary trip. When only one letter remains, compare the list with the collection record and revisit the corresponding site. Do not assume that because a bunker looks familiar you already searched the body inside it. The island sends you past several of these places for other reasons. The full route is 20 sites. You can take it in small regional sweeps, use six letters as an early weapon goal, or return later for the wartime story. The entrances above are the important part: get to the right level of the terrain, find the body and confirm the pickup before moving on.
