**Campaign Evolved: planning a Remix run and a LASO run** Remix changes what you meet. LASO changes how much room you have to survive it. Both use skulls, but they are different modes with different preparation, and neither should be confused with loading an old MCC playlist. **Unlock Remix with three collected skulls** Any three hidden skulls unlock Campaign Remix. They do not have to come from the same mission. This also unlocks Adaptation, Reload and Armistice, the three skulls built into every Remix mission. Adaptation changes enemy factions. Reload changes placed weapons. Armistice stops enemy factions fighting each other. That last one matters immediately: walking toward a familiar Flood-versus-Covenant battle and waiting for them to thin each other out is no longer a plan. Additional skulls can be selected, and Remix Selection adds three to six randomized skulls from your collection. Inspect the resulting setup before launching. The optional visual effects also change how easily you can read a room. [Official Remix guide](https://t.co/l4WZitkuPt) **Adapt to the equipment you actually find** Keep the normal mission route beside you for objectives and exits, but don't expect its weapon pickup or enemy composition to remain identical. Check the next room from cover before committing to a particular tactic. A long-range weapon and a close-range answer are a useful starting preference, not a guaranteed loadout. If the weapon you expected is absent, identify what is available and decide where it can work. Don't spend your last ammunition crossing a room solely to reach a remembered rack that might now hold something else. Keep a retreat lane when entering mixed groups. In the ordinary campaign, an enemy turning toward another faction might give you a free crossing. With Armistice, assume that movement will draw attention until you can see otherwise. **Deathless Remix goals** REMIX! is the ordinary mission completion. Beat the Drop adds a deathless mission; Mix Master extends the deathless requirement across the remixed campaign. Use an easier difficulty while learning this if the achievement does not demand a harder one. Keep a manual mission checklist and record which levels you completed cleanly. The bonus missions belong on the campaign checklist too. Published guides describe per-mission tracking and various quit/restart methods, but I would not build the plan around a promise that closing the game erases a death. A patch or a recorded checkpoint can make that advice expensive. If a run goes wrong, note the affected mission and verify what registered before deciding what needs replaying. [Campaign tracking reference](https://t.co/G7d2bWPPk5) For the clean eligibility setup, turn off difficulty presets and avoid achievement-blocking optional skulls. A setup that lets you finish a mission is not automatically a setup that earns its deathless award. **LASO needs seventeen particular skulls** You do not need to collect all 39 hidden skulls just to unlock LASO. The official requirement is this specific set: - Iron, Black Eye, Fog, Famine and Thunderstorm. - Mythic, Grunt Birthday Party, IWHBYD and Boom. - Eye Patch, Grunt Funeral, Malfunction and That's Just… Wrong. - Speed Limit, Pop, Temperamental and Johnny Ammo Seed. Once collected, use the game's LASO option. It keeps the required set active for the run. Do not improvise a manually selected assortment and assume the game will treat it as the same achievement attempt. [Official LASO guide](https://t.co/dwU2Pkq1t2) Iron sends a solo death back to the level's start; in co-op it returns the group to the checkpoint. Black Eye requires melee against enemies for shield recovery. Those two mechanics should shape how you approach a room before the first shot. **Prepare encounters, not just settings** With Black Eye, leave yourself a workable melee opportunity instead of killing every nearby weak enemy while your shield is already empty. That does not mean charging a healthy Elite head-on. Weaken a suitable target, use cover to approach and know where you will retreat afterward. With Johnny Ammo Seed, a partly used magazine has a cost when discarded. Reload in response to the next encounter, not because your finger always does it after a kill. Famine makes careless ammunition use more expensive still. Explosions and dying Grunts deserve more space. When one enemy falls, pause before stepping into the place it occupied. A successful kill does not always leave safe ground behind it. In co-op, agree who is moving and who is covering. A teammate trying to rescue a bad push can turn one mistake into a group reset. In solo, practice a difficult section on an ordinary run before risking the whole LASO level on an unfamiliar jump. Keep difficulty presets off throughout a qualifying attempt. These are preparation notes, not a claim that every encounter has been tested or that an old modifier exploit still works. A reliable run starts with knowing which rules the game is actually enforcing.
