**Campaign Evolved: Boarding Action**
Bonus-campaign mission spoilers. This is Operation: METEORITE, not a level in the original Combat Evolved.
The first bonus mission takes Chief and Johnson aboard the Triumph of Tolerance. Expect repeated room clearances rather than a route you can sprint through while Johnson somehow opens every door behind you. When progress stops, check the current fight and Johnson's position before assuming the objective marker is broken.
**Through the ship**
Clear the opening docking area and meet Johnson, then follow the doors and barriers he opens. The next stretch introduces elevated turrets and reinforcements arriving above the first route. Use cover between levels rather than standing in the middle while enemies fire down at you.
The pair of heavily armored Hunters is your first important collectible landmark. Finish that fight before using Johnson's lift. **Malfunction is accessible from here**, so check the detour below before leaving.
Continue into the lower fighting area while Johnson supports from above. Clear the platforms and advance to the training room. Check both floors for enemies, including cloaked Elites, before joining Johnson at the crossing. There is another skull detour here before taking the gravity bridge.
The route then leads through the armory and the experimental chambers toward the Gene-Forge. Use the armory to replace a nearly empty weapon. After the Prophet scene, the fighting shifts toward escaping through the ship and reaching the upper decks. The return is not an invitation to ignore fresh enemies just because the rooms look familiar.
**Fighting the Brutes**
The remake gives these encounters a useful mechanic: damaging the glowing chest device, or using a charged plasma-pistol shot, can send a Brute into a berserk attack against nearby allies. That can disrupt a group without requiring you to stand in front of every enemy at once.
Do not assume an Energy Sword guarantees a safe one-hit kill against them. Keep space for a retreat, and watch for other enemies while exploiting a berserk Brute. On Legendary, rushing a sword trade with another sword user is particularly risky. Treat the weapon as an option, not protection from return damage.
**The four collectible stops**
**Malfunction — Rally Point Alpha.** After the two white-armored Hunters, do not take the newly opened gravity lift yet. Look down toward the Seraph and use the accessible door beside that lower area. The route brings you onto an upper walkway overlooking an earlier room. Find the skull on that walkway.
**Johnny Ammo Seed — Rally Point Bravo.** In the training room with the duelling sword Elites and the overhead purple structure, go upstairs after the fight. Take the exit above the doorway you originally entered, rather than crossing the gravity bridge. Follow it back to the upper level of the previous area and check the curved walkway for the skull.
**Leadhead — Rally Point Delta.** During the upper-decks objective, clear the waves and stop before Johnson's gravity lift. From his control-panel position, use the door to the lift's left. The skull is in the short passage beyond it.
**The Path terminal — Rally Point Delta.** Now ride that lift. At the top, turn back and check the side door rather than immediately following the forward objective. The terminal is in the short passage off the lift room; the back-right door is the landmark used when facing back from the arrival position.
**Finishing the mission**
The late fights can attack from more than one stairway. Use the upper position when it gives you a good line of sight, but leave a mounted gun if enemies are reaching your flank. Clear the final resistance and follow the objective into the corridor for the ending.
Completion earns **Before the Fall**. The mission's collectible award is **Souvenirs**. Check the collectible record rather than adding an unsupported requirement that every pickup must be gathered in one uninterrupted run.
