**Campaign Evolved: start with the right checklist**
This guide series is for **Halo: Campaign Evolved**, the 2026 remake. It is not for the original Combat Evolved, the 2011 Anniversary release, or the version inside MCC. A familiar mission name does not mean its skulls, achievements, or combat rules are identical.
Campaign Evolved launched on July 28, 2026. The main campaign has the ten familiar missions, while Operation: METEORITE adds three bonus missions: Boarding Action, The Most Dangerous Game, and Heavy Burden. Keep those two groups separate when reading a guide that calls Boarding Action “Mission 1.” It means the first bonus mission, not a replacement for the Pillar of Autumn.
There are **39 collectible skulls and 13 terminals**. Each of the thirteen missions has three skulls and one terminal. The terminal achievement is **Lore Have Mercy**, and the full collectible achievement is **Collector's Addition**. Do not use MCC's 13-skull CE checklist here.
The official achievement list also distinguishes which achievements permit difficulty modifiers. The listed difficulty presets are permitted for ordinary mission completion and collectible achievements, but not the Heroic and Legendary campaign achievements. Skulls are a separate control: official troubleshooting warns that Acrophobia and Bandana disable some achievements. Permission to use a difficulty preset is not blanket permission to use either skull. Check the restriction attached to the achievement you are attempting rather than assuming that a skull which helps you reach an item is also allowed on a difficulty-completion run.
The three bonus missions can be selected without completing the main campaign first. For someone new to Halo, the main campaign is the clearer starting point: the bonus missions are not a replacement tutorial. If you already know the original story, the prequel missions provide something genuinely new before returning to the ring.
Keep a per-mission note of the three skulls and terminal. A completed mission and a fully collected mission are different records. Where a guide gives a rally point, use it to identify the section being discussed; do not assume that every collectible has no special spawn requirement just because another skull can be reached easily.
One particularly important distinction is the Keyes Catch skull. It has difficulty and timing conditions that need their own route. Do not carry over the original Anniversary Grunt Birthday Party location and expect to find the same collectible there.
These guides will label the remake explicitly, use its own collectible names, and keep any uncertain route or condition visible. There is no benefit to a confident set of directions that sends you searching the wrong version of the ship.
