**Halo Wars 2 — The Halo: save Bravo Base and control the towers** **Main campaign, mission 11. Mission spoilers.** The Halo brings back the control-tower fight from Ascension, but now there is a Retriever Sentinel roaming the battlefield. Holding a tower is not just a question of leaving enough troops beside it. You need to notice when the thing moving toward those troops is far more dangerous than the ordinary capture team. **Stabilize Alpha Base** Start by repelling the Banished attack and putting the base's economy and defenses to work. Keep the Spartans and supporting units where they can intercept enemies approaching the base. The Retriever arrives during this opening. Concentrate fire to force it to withdraw, then rebuild your position. Driving it away is not the same as permanently removing it from the mission. Collect the mission's one Phoenix Log, **Rise of Atriox VI**, behind the starting UNSC base near the resource silos. It is available in the starting area; there is no reason to leave it until the map is full of active objectives. [Opening route](https://t.co/hAbnr3mTty), [collectible landmark](https://t.co/Hga6x2nFIX) **Rescue Bravo Base promptly** After the opening defense, move out with a force ready for a real fight. The nearby Power Node on the route triggers the call for help from Bravo Base. Once that happens, respond promptly and clear the attackers around its entrances. Rescuing the installation gives you the **After Party skull** and another useful base. Defend it after the rescue rather than treating the objective completion as permanent safety. [Skull requirement](https://t.co/ek4uRDyHP5) While sweeping this part of the map, reunite with the scattered UNSC groups. There are three: one on the route out of Alpha Base toward the northwest, another behind Bravo Base, and another farther around the route beyond tower C near the river. Add those units to appropriate groups rather than leave them standing where you found them. **Clear sources of pressure** You can destroy the Banished minibases and the larger enemy base as part of the sweep. Taking out production reduces pressure on the control points and gives you room to establish your own positions. Approach the fortified main base with a supported army. Use long-range fire and spotting where available, break the defenses and then focus the headquarters. Preserve enough of the army to defend the towers afterward. An optional base kill followed by losing both held points is not much of a trade. [Base and tower strategy](https://t.co/Ba1WIk5I1c) **Capture, defend and keep moving when necessary** Capture the control towers with infantry and protect them. Your goal is **3,000 domination points before the Banished reach that total**. More controlled towers speed up progress, but an unattended point can be taken back. One workable route is to secure the Bravo Base side, take B, continue around to C, then bring the remaining force to A. That route also gives you opportunities to collect the scattered troops and clear enemy installations. It is not a requirement to capture the towers in those letters' order. Give each held position enough mixed support to deal with a capture force. Keep a reserve that can respond when one position takes heavier pressure. Watch the Retriever on the map and move troops out of its route before it reaches them. Reoccupying a position after it passes is better than sacrificing the defense just to remain standing beside the tower. **The optional and bonus targets** For the optional all-towers finish, make sure A, B and C are yours as the winning score approaches. The bonus objectives also ask you to limit the enemy to **700 points**, lose no more than **five units to the Retriever**, and get **ten kills with the Vulture's special ability**. [Mission objective record](https://t.co/vURTZMG43D) The Vulture objective is about its ability, not simply having a Vulture in the army. Use it against suitable enemy groups and check the counter. The Retriever loss limit is another reason to evacuate a threatened position early instead of trying to hold it through every patrol. On higher difficulty, prioritize a defensible hold over spreading a weak army across all three points immediately. Build strength, take territory and keep producing replacements. Once the score is near completion, spend your attention on the held towers and the Retriever's position rather than start a fresh side expedition.
