**Halo Wars: Dome of Light — all five Rhinos need protection**
*Campaign spoilers. Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, mission 6.*
Getting a Rhino to its marker isn't the end of its job. It stays there, which means somebody has to protect it while you go looking after the next one. That's the part of Dome of Light that can catch you: your newest objective gets all your attention while an earlier Rhino is being destroyed behind you.
**Set up before ordering the first Rhino**
Clear the opening Covenant attack, gather the nearby supplies and start building your economy. Secure the nearby ONI reactors with infantry where you can hold them. Their technology support is useful, but check the exposed garrison when fighting breaks out nearby.
Prepare ground protection and anti-air. Scorpions help clear the deployment sites; Wolverines and missile-equipped base turrets help with the Banshees. Don't build only tanks and then wonder why aircraft can keep attacking an isolated Rhino.
Request Rhinos at the landing-pad communications structure beside your base. These are mission units, not ordinary Scorpions from your Vehicle Depot.
**Positions one and two**
Escort the first Rhino to the marked overlook and deploy it there. Leave defenders with it before taking the attacking force away. The Rhino can contribute to fighting, but it shouldn't be your only defense against everything arriving at that position.
For the second marker, clear the Covenant position first. Attack the units and defenses that threaten the escort, then bring the Rhino through the cleared route. A marker appearing on the map is not an instruction to drive an expensive objective vehicle straight through an occupied base.
Once the second Rhino is deployed, check the first one and your home base. Repair damage before it becomes an emergency. Keep production working while you're moving the escorts; replacing a lost Wolverine after a Banshee attack is more useful than noticing several minutes later that your queues have been empty.
**The third position needs transport**
The third marked platform is separated by a broken crossing. Use the **Transport** leader power to take the Rhino across, with protection rather than leaving it stranded alone. Ground pathfinding will not solve the missing bridge for you.
While you're there, collect the black box on the short path west of the third deployment position. Do this with an escort unit so you don't have to move the Rhino away from its job.
Before continuing, make sure all three established positions have enough protection. Reassign units deliberately instead of selecting the whole army and accidentally pulling every defender into your next assault.
**The final pair**
Clear the remaining marked sites, bring in the last two Rhinos and deploy them. Keep checking the earlier positions during these attacks. A force of Wolverines is useful against aircraft but still needs support if Covenant ground troops get close; a Scorpion group has the opposite limitation.
If **Rhino Hugger** is your goal, every Rhino must survive. Healing a damaged Rhino is fine. Losing one and replacing it is not the same as protecting every Rhino. On a difficult first attempt, prioritize the mission; a dedicated lower-difficulty preservation run is a reasonable way to clean up the achievement afterward.
With all five in place, the dome is opened for the bombardment. Use the supplied MAC fire against the marked defenses and generators to finish the operation. Don't waste shots on empty ground while required structures remain.
**Sickness and the score run**
Destroy **50 Banshees** to spawn **Sickness**. The pickup is in the hangar behind and to the right of your starting UNSC base, not on the third Rhino platform—that platform is associated with the black box. Check the kill counter and collect the skull before finishing the mission.
For Heroic and Legendary, clear each new location with the army before moving the Rhino. Stronger defenders make an unescorted rush much less forgiving. Keep reserves for your existing positions instead of spending every unit on the newest fight.
Your end-of-run checks are **Great Form!** for completing the mission in Definitive Edition, **Rhino Hugger** for preserving every Rhino, the black box, Sickness, and a **45,000-point** gold target. A gold attempt rewards a cleaner operation; endlessly replacing expensive losses isn't an efficient substitute for defending what you've already deployed.
