**Halo Infinite: Academy first, then the multiplayer achievements worth planning around**
Infinite's multiplayer checklist becomes much easier to read once you separate the practice tasks from the things that need a real match. A Custom Game can be an excellent place to learn a weapon or a grapple route. That does not mean the same session qualifies for an achievement whose wording specifies matchmaking.
I would start with Academy, get comfortable with the equipment, then choose a few targets that fit the modes you actually enjoy. There is no need to spend an entire match ignoring the objective because you decided every unusual medal had to happen immediately.
**Clear the Academy tasks properly**
Academy contains the Tutorial, Weapon Drills and Training Mode. They are separate options, not three names for the same exercise. The Tutorial introduces movement, equipment and combat before a practice Slayer match. Weapon Drills measure how you handle individual weapons. Training Mode gives you a more flexible space to experiment. [Official Academy guide](https://t.co/scTgKjF4sO)
Finish the Tutorial for **Doing Your Part**. Complete a scored Weapon Drill for **Sharpshooter**, then push one drill to three stars for **Deadeye**. Launch Training Mode and change a training setting while you are there; the practice environment has its own small achievements.
For the three-star attempt, choose a weapon whose firing rhythm you understand. Spend one run watching where targets arrive and where your reload breaks the flow. Then improve that particular run rather than change weapons after every failed attempt. The Endless variant is useful for practice, but it is not the scored drill you need for a star target. **Greased Lightning: restart the yard with the timer running**
This secret Tutorial achievement asks for the Movement Yard in **under twenty-five seconds**. Finish the introductory passage through the yard, return over the dividing wall and use the terminal by the starting door to begin a timed retry. Simply rushing your first untimed introduction is not the same attempt.
You can shorten the route with the boxes and ledges rather than follow every turn of the marked training path. Near the final section, use the box against the wall to reach the ladder platform instead of taking the longer loop around the pit. Keep sprinting between jumps and aim your landing at the next useful surface, not at the middle of an obstacle you will immediately have to climb off.
If you miss a jump, finish learning the route or return to restart the timer. The point is one clean run below the limit, not accumulating several fast sections across attempts. [Timed-yard setup and route](https://t.co/Q8VUZeUXP1), [additional route reference](https://t.co/tF22b2niHO)
**Choose the mode before chasing its achievement**
Check the playlist's available modes. In a Match Composer-enabled playlist, you can choose among the modes it currently offers. That is useful when you need an objective mode, but it does not mean every playlist includes every mode or that yesterday's rotation is still available. [Official Match Composer explanation](https://t.co/QVeAXPzrhS)
For **Running Laps**, you need two flag captures in one matchmade CTF game. Work with the team: clear the route, establish someone to cover the return and use the next push when the opposing team is displaced. Running alone into the enemy base repeatedly is not a reliable shortcut to two captures.
For **Zone Ranger**, look for Strongholds and participate in five captures during the match. Move with the fight rather than abandon a useful defense solely to stand on an empty enemy point. The achievement can fit ordinary objective play; it does not require turning the game into a private checklist at your teammates' expense.
Other objectives specify Total Control, Oddball or Stockpile. Read the actual mode name. Two modes involving territory are not automatically interchangeable, and a flag in a custom variant does not remove a matchmaking requirement.
**Equipment tasks are good habits when the opportunity is there**
**Working Remote** is a reason to remember that the Grappleshot can retrieve weapons. If a useful gun is lying across an exposed lane, grapple it from a safer angle instead of walking through the firing line. Make the attempt in a matchmade game, as required.
The Repulsor can push danger away. Learn its timing in practice before trying to return an incoming grenade during a match. Triggering it when the grenade is already detonating beside you is not a plan; keep watching the projectile and leave yourself an escape if the timing fails.
For the flying-vehicle grapple achievement, wait for an enemy aircraft to enter a reachable position. Keep cover until you have the Grappleshot and a usable angle. A Wasp hovering beyond range is not an invitation to stand in the open repeatedly pressing the equipment button. The requirement is the hijack, not merely throwing the cable toward the sky.
These are opportunities to recognize while helping your team, not reasons to preserve unused equipment through an entire match in the hope that the perfect moment appears.
**Understand the medal, not just the weapon**
Some achievements require a named medal. An ordinary kill with the right gun is not always sufficient.
**Watt Say You?** is tied to a Shock Rifle chain kill. The useful opportunity is a group close enough for the electrical damage to spread, not an isolated opponent you shoot directly. Watch for enemies grouped around an objective and take the shot without exposing yourself to the whole group.
For a precision-weapon **Perfect**, accuracy and efficient damage matter. Practicing the weapon's recoil and finishing pattern is more useful than assuming any headshot will award the medal. Avoid treating a remembered launch-era shot count as permanent after weapon balancing.
**Party Bus** asks for the Razorback's **Mount Up** medal. Honk and get allies aboard until the vehicle is fully occupied as required by the medal. Merely driving past two friendly players does not count. Give the passengers a useful destination; bringing a group safely to an objective is a better use of the vehicle than parking somewhere dangerous waiting for an achievement notification. **Ranked, passes and the current service**
Ranked progression and Battle Pass achievements are separate from your campaign achievements. Read the current in-game eligibility and placement requirements instead of copying a launch guide's fixed match count. Likewise, check the pass you have selected before spending time progressing a different reward track.
I would not buy a cosmetic bundle simply because an old guide uses it to demonstrate a customization task. Check the items you already own and the exact action required. Equipping a different unlocked item may be the relevant step; owning an expensive item is not a substitute for performing that step.
If a particular mode or vehicle is unavailable in the current playlist selection, work on a different target and return when there is a suitable match. This guide does not promise a live queue, a specific map rotation or that every historical bot-mode shortcut still qualifies. Keep a short list of what remains and look for the opportunities the current matches actually provide.
