**Halo Infinite: clearing Reformation's bases, targets and rescue call**
Reformation is where a few useful detours can change the equipment you have for the rest of the campaign. There are eight named target encounters here, including a Wraith commander, a pair of Hunters and a rocket launcher that makes hovering above every fight a very bad habit.
This route covers the five FOBs, Fortune Squad, Annex Ridge and Riven Gate. It also picks up the collectibles inside those two outposts. The separate regional sweeps cover the scattered mountains, caves and waterfronts; clearing every objective icon alone does not collect everything.
**Get the five FOBs working first**
You can tackle these during The Sequence, before committing to the next indoor stretch. Capture each platform by eliminating its defenders and using the terminal. If the capture prompt remains unavailable, look for a surviving enemy rather than repeatedly pressing the console.
A useful circuit starts with **Lima and November on the eastern side**, then moves through **Juliet, Hotel and Kilo** in the western area. Riven Gate sits across the trench route between the two sides. Flying or climbing around it is possible, but clearing it gives the ground route a purpose beyond another obstacle to bypass.
Expect the following problems:
- **Lima:** Elites, including a cloaked sword wielder. Keep the Threat Sensor ready instead of standing at the console while an invisible enemy closes in.
- **November:** Brutes and snipers. Work through the elevated shooters before exposing yourself on the platform.
- **Juliet:** another Brute-held position. Leave yourself a retreat down the approach instead of jumping into the middle of its defenders.
- **Hotel:** mixed infantry and Ghosts. Disable or deal with the vehicles before making this a close-range fight.
- **Kilo:** snipers and jetpack Brutes. Check above the platform as well as across it.
Each FOB has one physical Infinity's Approach audio pad. Pick it up while the platform is quiet:
- Lima: left of the capture terminal, beside the yellow-and-gray supplies and makeshift sleeping area.
- November: on a crate beside the antenna.
- Kilo: across from the terminal, toward the platform's northeast corner.
- Juliet: to the right of the terminal.
- Hotel: opposite the terminal.
Those recordings unlock in their collection order. Do not assume a guide's recording title must match the title you receive at that particular base.
Captured FOBs reveal useful nearby activities and equipment pickups, but **not every kind of collectible**. A clean-looking patch of TacMap is not proof that all its propaganda towers or hidden audio pads are finished.
**Riven Gate: open the route, then disable it properly**
Approach the checkpoint east of Juliet. You need to lower **three gates**, not merely get Chief over their walls.
Use the objective markers to distinguish the actual gate consoles from ordinary Banished scenery. The awkward console is inside a locked hangar building: reach the nearby raised tower and use its switch to open the building, then go inside to operate the gate control. This is also where a Banshee is available. If you want to keep it, park it away from the fighting rather than in front of the next reinforcement wave.
Lowering gates brings more enemies. On Heroic or Legendary, clear enough space to move between cover before touching the next control. Triggering several stages while still surrounded makes the checkpoint much harder than it needs to be.
After all three gates are down, follow the new objective into the power facility built against the canyon. Use the Threat Sensor for cloaked enemies, clear the interior, and activate the control that exposes the generator. Destroy the exposed generator to finish the outpost. Opening the road was only the first part.
Before leaving, collect its five pickups:
- Banished pad in the hangar containing a gate control.
- Banished pad inside the power-facility entrance area.
- Spartan Core farther into that facility's tunnel, in a side recess.
- UNSC pad at the scouting position on the high ridge north of the western gate.
- UNSC pad at the elevated position southeast of the eastern gate.
The last two are outside the buildings. Search the overlooks, not the road directly below them.
**Annex Ridge: follow the fuel system**
Annex Ridge lies west of Kilo. Take the high ground around the excavation and remove the enemies watching the central approach. You are looking for a way into the research facility near the excavated Forerunner artifact, not for an exposed fuel tank you can immediately destroy.
Enter the tunnel, fight through the confined rooms and take the gravity lift to the control area. Use the console to lift the security restrictions. Free the captive Marines on the upper level before heading back outside.
The next objective leads to the silo controls in another building. Activate that panel to raise the fuel installation, then get outside and shoot its exposed weak points. Its destruction takes out the nearby transport and completes the operation.
Keep some ammunition for the enemies arriving after the security change. Particularly on Legendary, there is no benefit in rushing back into the open with an empty weapon just because the objective moved.
The five pickups here are:
- Banished pad beside/behind the gravity lift in the underground route.
- Banished pad beside the silo-control console.
- Spartan Core in the small supply container along the northwestern side, near the silo-control building.
- UNSC pad at the northeastern lookout on the metal hexagonal columns, near a sniper position.
- UNSC pad on the southwestern hexagonal ledges, beside supplies overlooking the base.
The core is outside the main control room; the two UNSC recordings require climbing above the fighting area.
**Fortune Squad**
Fortune is the **only named rescue squad in Reformation**. Capture Hotel to reveal its distress call and follow the marker northwest toward the mountains. Fight the Banished around the squad's cave position, then check that the rescue objective resolves before leaving.
Avoid throwing explosives indiscriminately into the cave while Marines are still mixed into the fight. Clear a firing lane from outside and use precision fire for enemies close to them. There is also a Spartan Core inside the mountain at this location; take it during the rescue rather than returning to the same cave later.
**The eight target encounters**
These are not eight identical Brutes with different labels. Bring equipment for the encounter, clear the target's supporting enemies and wait for the objective completion before assuming the weapon variant is unlocked at your FOBs.
**Barroth — Stalker Rifle Ultra.** Look southeast of Riven Gate, west of Lima, above the valley. Treat the approach as a sniper position: keep rock between you and the target while closing the distance. Going around the heights is preferable to walking straight through the exposed firing lane.
**Arthoc — Ravager Rebound.** Head west of November into the route between the mountains. Thin the accompanying infantry first. The rebounding projectiles make a small pocket behind rocks less safe than it appears; move to a different angle when incoming fire starts filling your cover position.
**Zeretus — M41 Tracker.** Northwest of November. His tracking rockets punish aircraft, so land away from the camp rather than hovering in place to trade damage. Work from hard cover on the southeastern approach, take short firing opportunities and retreat before the next rocket arrives. A Wasp is transportation here, not an automatic solution.
**Skimmer Patrol — Purging Shock Rifle.** North of Juliet, at the mountain's foot. Pick off the flying enemies from cover, then clear the remaining ground defenders. Shock fire is another reason not to leave a vehicle stationary in their line of sight.
**Myriad — Backdraft Cindershot.** South of Juliet, northeast of Annex Ridge, around the Forerunner structure. This is a Hunter pair. Bring heavy weapons and enough room to move; do not close on one Hunter while forgetting the other has a clear shot. A well-armed Marine vehicle can provide support, but do not park it directly in front of their guns.
**Ordo 'Mal — Scatterbound Heatwave.** North/northwest of Hotel in the marshy area. He starts in a Wraith. Clear the surrounding anti-vehicle shooters before trying to fight his tank with your own vehicle. Remove the exposed turret gunner when possible, keep moving between the mortar impacts and use heavy weapons against the Wraith. Destroying the vehicle is not a reason to stop checking for its surviving commander or remaining defenders.
**En 'Geddon — Rushdown Hammer.** West of Hotel at the mountain base. Deal with the snipers, then keep distance from the hammer. Have a Grappleshot escape direction ready before he charges; backing into a rock with nowhere to go is much worse than taking a little longer to finish him.
**Writh Kul — Pinpoint Needler.** On an isolated elevated fragment south of Hotel, east of the southwestern beacon. An aircraft is the straightforward approach. Watch the emplacements and shock-weapon enemies while coming in, land where the vehicle will not be destroyed immediately, then clear the position. Do not descend blindly toward the lower edges of the fragment while fighting.
**Before entering the next story section**
Check for five captured FOBs, two completed outposts, Fortune's rescue and all eight completed target encounters. Then actually select any newly unlocked variant you want at a FOB. Finishing a target does not put that weapon into Chief's hands for the next mission.
On a first playthrough, I would spend the newly collected cores before going back indoors. The improved equipment helps much more than a pile of unused upgrades sitting in the menu.
