**Outpost Tremonius, Recovery and The Tower: reach the ring and beat Chak 'Lok**
*Mission spoilers below, including boss encounters.*
This stretch moves from a contained landing-zone fight into the open world, then back inside a dangerous prison. Do not let the open map convince you that every icon must be finished before the next story objective. The route below handles the three campaign entries and their immediate collectible stops; the wider Lockdown sweep is a separate job.
**Outpost Tremonius: clear a landing zone**
At the top of the elevator from Foundation, collect the Spartan Core directly ahead. Continue through the interior, eliminate the Grunts and interact with the terminal. Once the exterior opens, your job is to clear the outpost so the Pilot can land. Work uphill toward the landing pad, remove its defenders, use the objective terminal and board the Pelican when prompted. [Outpost objective route](https://t.co/VSvg4SeOFC)
Stay on the edge of the compound rather than dropping into its middle. From the entrance, identify the elevated firing positions before attacking the infantry below. If a turret pins you down, change angle with the grapple instead of repeatedly stepping into its view. The landing pad is the destination, not the first position you need to occupy.
On Normal, this is a good place to try throwing fusion coils at grouped enemies. On Heroic, eliminate elevated shooters before advancing up the slope. On Legendary, keep solid cover between you and the landing pad while clearing the lower camp. A fight becomes much easier when only one section of the outpost can see you.
**All five Outpost Tremonius pickups**
1. **Spartan Core:** directly in front of the elevator at the mission's start.
2. **Spartan Core:** after emerging outside, turn right and follow the path behind the bunker you just exited. The crate sits beside wreckage at the path's end.
3. **Spartan Core:** return toward the objective, enter the lower camp along its left side and pass the broken slatted barrier. Turn left to the crate beside a large red-and-gray weapon container.
4. **In Your Honor, Banished Outpost Intel:** from that third core, turn around and descend toward the red-and-gray supply crates. The pad leans against the crates beside the cliff on the left.
5. **Mjolnir Armory:** beside a light post at the right edge of the landing-pad approach, before boarding the Pelican. [Outpost collectible route](https://t.co/Tulfh20HKg)
There is no skull at this outpost. Do not spend time combing the wreck for one because a broader area counter also includes the preceding underground missions.
**Recovery: establish your first useful foothold**
After the flight, descend toward FOB Golf. Clear its defenders, then interact with its terminal. Collect the audio log on the FOB platform near the sandbags before leaving. The Tower is northwest; follow the marked objective overland, using a Mongoose if you prefer. [Recovery's opening objectives](https://t.co/VHAlSHK9O4)
Golf gives you a convenient place to reset your loadout. Take a precision option for exposed enemies and a plasma option for shields. A weapon with almost no ammunition is not worth carrying just because it performed well in the last boss fight.
You can detour for upgrades, but do it deliberately. If you want a stronger Grappleshot before the Tower, choose nearby cores and come back to the story route. Driving randomly between every newly revealed icon will make it harder to remember which sites you actually finished.
**The Tower: end the lockdown and restore the lift**
Enter the outer compound, clear the entrance and use its terminal to open the gate. Fight into the area beneath the Tower and approach the disabled gravity lift. Chak 'Lok's hologram introduces the lockdown. Follow the marker into the control building, deal with its defenders and disable the lockdown at the terminal.
That is not the end of the exterior fight. Repel the incoming enemies, reach the grav-lift controls and manually reactivate it. Clear the reinforcement wave before riding up. Free the captive Marines in the compound when you can safely reach them. [Lockdown and lift sequence](https://t.co/VHAlSHK9O4)
Do not stand at a terminal while the next wave surrounds you. Fall back into cleared space, deal with the immediate rushers, then return to the interaction. On Legendary in particular, objective progress is not worth trading your last shield segment for a Brute at point-blank range.
**Exterior collectibles**
**Harbinger, Escharum’s Testimony:** enter through the front-right gate and bear right toward the open supply containers. The pad is just inside one container, to the right of its doorway.
**Spartan Core:** continue farther along that side, beneath the walkway. Check the open containers on your left; the core is in one of the farther containers near the lockdown-control area.
**Mjolnir Armory:** find the landing platform on the compound's south side. The locker is below that platform on the cliff ledge. Look down and identify the ledge before stepping off. [Tower exterior landmarks](https://t.co/gWtKAPOGke)
**Climb the interior without overlooking the side rooms**
At the top of the gravity lift, inspect the abandoned Spartan armor to obtain the Threat Sensor. Then follow the circular passages and ramps upward. Clear each bend before pushing into the next section, particularly when an enemy can fire through a gap from farther around the ring. The sensor helps establish where enemies are without walking straight into them. [Interior progression](https://t.co/TP8L8FtzQV)
**What Was Inside, Prisoner:** after the first stairs above the armor, check behind the small pillars on the right side of the circular corridor.
**Second Spartan Core:** climb another level. At the corridor section partially obstructed by containers, look into the room on the right for the green-lit core crate. These are separate floors; finding the audio log does not mean you have already passed the core. [Interior collectible landmarks](https://t.co/Xql73thu42)
**Chak 'Lok: reveal, reposition, then shoot**
The boss is an Elite with active camouflage, an Energy Sword and ranged attacks. Place a Threat Sensor where you intend to fight, then switch back to the Grappleshot so your escape is ready. The sensor does not make you safe; it makes the approaching danger visible.
Use plasma to work down his shield. When he moves in with the sword, grapple across clear space rather than backing into a corner. Shock coils can help interrupt the pressure, and a kinetic weapon is useful once the shield breaks. Avoid giving him a long, uncontested retreat in which to recover. [Chak 'Lok's equipment and counters](https://t.co/m3dDqyDeYk)
On **Normal**, prioritize learning where the sensor covers rather than chasing him whenever he vanishes. On **Heroic**, keep a fresh sensor watching your fighting area and reload during separation, not during his approach. On **Legendary**, treat the sword lunge as the immediate priority even when his health is low. Move early, turn from the safer position and resume damage. Never plan to trade a melee hit with his sword.
After the fight, free the Spartan and let the story sequence finish before leaving.
**IWHBYD: the roof, not the boss room**
The skull sits on the very top of the Tower, behind the concert equipment. For a grapple climb, first obtain Quickshot to reduce the cooldown, climb a sloping exterior leg, then chain grapples upward and around the roof lip. If that climb is frustrating, return later with an aircraft and land on the roof. You do not need to force this pickup during the boss mission. [Roof route and skull landmark](https://t.co/gWtKAPOGke)
Your Tower total is six pickups: two audio logs, two cores, one locker and IWHBYD. Check them before starting a wider region sweep so the Tower itself is not left as an unresolved question.
