**Halo Infinite campaign: start clean, use replay, and keep your achievement runs separate** Halo Infinite is easier to plan when you stop treating the first campaign run as an exam. You can finish a mission, discover you missed its skull, and return for it. You can also play the campaign with friends rather than choose between story progress and a co-op night. The sensible starting point is one ordinary campaign save, on a difficulty you actually enjoy. Learn the Grappleshot, collect upgrades as you travel, and keep a short list of anything you leave behind. Save the demanding completion conditions for a run built around them. **Make sure you have the campaign** The free multiplayer download and the campaign entitlement are different things. On Steam, the campaign is listed as content requiring the Halo Infinite base game. Check that the campaign is owned or otherwise available through your current subscription, and installed, before arranging a group session. Do not buy it twice just because a menu temporarily fails to recognize it. [Steam campaign listing](https://t.co/t10PET0c5v) This guide covers Infinite's campaign, not The Master Chief Collection. MCC playlists, par scores and its skull rules are not a substitute for Infinite's own menus and achievement requirements. **What Mission Replay actually lets you do** Load your campaign, open the TacMap, select a completed mission or side objective, and open its Mission Options. Choose Replay Mission, then the difficulty and skulls you want. Your current weapons, unlocked equipment and upgrades travel into the replay; collectibles recovered there carry back to your ongoing save. Main missions, outposts, targets and Marine events are eligible. [Official replay instructions](https://t.co/yCrbBzgCdi) That changes the preparation completely. If an early boss is giving you trouble during cleanup, first visit a FOB and choose a useful weapon pairing. Bring something for shields and something for the exposed target, rather than two weapons that solve the same problem. Check ammunition before launching. A replay with upgraded equipment is not the same experience as arriving there on a fresh save, so this series identifies ordinary first-run tactics separately from cleanup conveniences. Do not mistake “replayable” for “every doorway stays open.” Individual levels still contain transitions that prevent immediate backtracking. Follow the collectible stops while you are there; replay is your safety net, not a reason to ignore every locked door. **Set up network co-op without confusing the saves** Campaign network co-op supports up to four players, with Xbox and PC crossplay. Each player chooses a save. The shared world follows the progress everyone has completed, rather than simply dropping a newcomer into the host's latest mission. Players keep progress earned together. The group also has an operating-distance limit: move back toward your teammates when warned instead of trying to clear separate corners of the ring. [Official co-op explanation](https://t.co/PuY7Br1fLQ) Before pressing Start, agree on three things: the save each person is using, the difficulty, and whether this is a story session or achievement cleanup. Those decisions prevent the usual problem where one player wants to listen to dialogue while another is racing to an objective. Give each fight a simple division of labor. One player handles ranged enemies, another watches rushers, and someone keeps a route to cover open. In boss rooms, spreading out is usually more useful than everyone stacking behind the same pillar. Do not have the whole team chase a wounded boss through the same doorway when a safer crossfire is available. **A four-pass plan that avoids unnecessary repetition** **Pass one: story and useful upgrades.** Choose Normal for a relaxed introduction or Heroic if you already like Halo's combat. Capture convenient FOBs and pick up nearby Spartan Cores. You do not need to turn every drive into a region-wide scavenger hunt. Keep your focus on learning how enemies move and where equipment fits into the fight. **Pass two: collections and side objectives.** Work one map area at a time. Finish a named outpost, inspect its surroundings, then move to the next cluster. Keep story-level collectibles separate from open-world ones in your notes. Otherwise it is easy to search a hillside for something that belongs inside a mission. **Pass three: targeted achievements.** Read the exact achievement description before entering a replay. A required weapon, final blow, vehicle, timing window or co-op condition matters more than simply winning the fight. For coordinated objectives, clear distracting enemies before starting the timed action whenever the objective permits it. Explain the countdown before anyone presses a switch. **Pass four: challenge runs.** Treat Legendary, LASO and the campaign speed challenge as projects with their own conditions. A sightseeing run is not a useful timing baseline. A skull-enabled cleanup session is not automatically a valid attempt at every achievement. The later challenge guide handles the specific requirements rather than assuming all modifiers behave like MCC. **Read the map without asking it to do too much** FOBs help reveal collectible categories, but they do not expose every hidden thing. Audio logs need close-range searching; skulls and propaganda towers are not revealed just by capturing the nearby FOB. Use the area totals to track your sweep, and use AI Scan when a waypoint seems to point into rock. The item may be in a cave or below your feet. Mjolnir lockers grant multiplayer cosmetics, not replacement campaign armor. [Official collectible guide](https://t.co/iNZUDZG63N) The useful habit is to check the count before leaving a location, not after crossing half the map. A short note saying “one log missing at this outpost” beats a vague memory that you probably searched it. **Finish sessions safely** Return to the main menu before closing the game normally. Halo Support’s published list (updated June 2025) warns that forcibly closing active campaign gameplay and then switching saves can overwrite or corrupt progress. It also lists a co-op Mission Replay issue at the end of Spire when its cutscene is skipped. Let that scene run during a co-op replay. [Campaign known issues](https://t.co/N1coPNeLPC) A clean exit is a small habit, but it is much less annoying than wondering whether the last hour counted. Keep your saves organized, use replay deliberately, and leave the strict runs until the route feels familiar. **Track physical pads, not just recording titles.** Spartan audio logs and the FOB Infinity’s Approach logs unlock in order within their collections. If a guide names a recording you already own, its physical location may still need checking; use the landmark and pickup state.
