**Halo 5: the achievements waiting outside the campaign** Once the campaign checklist is done, there's still a whole other side of Halo 5 to work through. Some of these achievements take a few changes in the menus. Others depend on finding the right multiplayer match, getting the right map, and staying with it long enough to finish. That last part matters more now than it did at launch. Recent players have reported difficulty finding particular modes. That doesn't mean every multiplayer achievement is unavailable, but an old guide saying “just select Breakout” isn't enough to plan an evening around. This is the **Halo 5: Guardians** list. The Windows release called **Halo 5: Forge** has its own achievements, covered separately below. **Start with the quick menu tasks** These are worth checking before joining a queue: - **Your Style:** change your Spartan's gear. - **Raise Your Banner:** change the emblem on your Spartan ID. - **Make Your Mark:** change your service tag. - **Gamemaster:** create and save a custom game. - **Benchwarmer:** spectate a game. For the customization ones, make an actual change and save it. For Gamemaster, save your custom setup rather than simply opening the custom-game menu. Benchwarmer needs a game you can spectate. One useful route is to finish a multiplayer match, return to the menu, and check Recent players. If someone is now in a spectatable match, open their options and select Spectate. You can also use a friend who is already playing an eligible match. Watching a stream outside the game doesn't count. **Arena: count completed matches by their actual mode** - **Castle Crasher:** five matchmade Strongholds games. - **Off to the Races:** five matchmade Breakout games. - **Flag Monger:** five matchmade Capture the Flag games. - **Spartan Decimation:** five matchmade Slayer games. - **Valor Recognized:** qualify for a competitive skill rating. The first four say complete, not win. Stay through the end and keep a small tally by mode. Five games in a mixed playlist don't necessarily mean five games of the mode you need. A private custom match doesn't replace a matchmade requirement. Also, your Spartan progression rank isn't your competitive skill rating. For Valor Recognized, you're looking for a ranked playlist's placement/rating result. Check the live playlist descriptions before searching. Player reports from 2026 point to sparse populations in playlists used for Strongholds and Breakout. Those reports are useful warnings, not a live measurement of every region or time of day. If you're organizing a group, agree on a time and check what the game currently offers instead of promising instant matches. **Warzone: matches, equipment and the original maps** **Cry Havoc** requires three completed matchmade Warzone games. **Bringing in the Big Guns** requires calling in a REQ costing at least five Energy. Having the card in your collection isn't the same as deploying it. Choose something you can actually call in during the match once the required Energy is available. **Go for the Gold** is for opening a Gold REQ pack. You can use earned in-game REQ Points; buying a pack with real money isn't a requirement. Make sure it's a Gold pack, not simply a pack containing a gold-looking item. **Warlord** is the map-specific one. Its three original Warzone maps are: - Escape from A.R.C. - Raid on Apex 7. - March on Stormbreak. You need a win on each. Record the actual map and result instead of relying on your overall Warzone win count. **Top of the Food Chain** requires a Legendary Boss kill in Warzone. Follow the boss announcement and engage the marked target with suitable weapons. Aim to secure the kill and check for your Legendary Boss Kill medal; don't assume contributing a little damage or having your team kill it gives you the same credit. This is separate from the Mythic takedown achievement in Firefight. **Warzone Firefight: three different jobs** **Not Your First Rodeo** needs five successful Warzone Firefight matches. A defeat may still help a different checklist, but it isn't one of these wins. **Tour of Duty** asks for completed Firefight matches on six unique maps. The established qualifying set is: - Attack on Sanctum. - Escape from A.R.C. - March on Stormbreak. - Raid on Apex 7. - Skirmish at Darkstar. - Urban. For this one, completion can be a win or a loss. Older guide notes specifically exclude Temple and Prospect, so don't use appearances on those maps to replace a missing map from the list above. **Dangerous Game** requires a Mythic Boss Takedown. This isn't simply completing a round with a Mythic boss somewhere in it. Get involved in the fight and contribute substantial damage. Unlike the Legendary Boss kill target above, the documented Firefight approach doesn't require you personally to land the final shot. Keep a strong weapon or vehicle option available for that fight. If you're playing with friends, tell them which achievement you're after before the boss is nearly dead. You can help complete the objective and make your own contribution without everyone suddenly arguing over who fired last. Check the takedown and achievement result afterward. There isn't a reliable reason to promise that one stray bullet will qualify. **Windows Forge is a separate checklist** Halo 5: Forge has **22 achievements worth 1,000 Gamerscore**, separate from Guardians' **73 worth 1,250**. It is not the full Halo 5 campaign on PC. Its achievements are built around map creation and custom games: saving maps, changing object properties, scripting movement, playing on authored maps and bringing other players into sessions. Your Guardians campaign completion won't clear them. There is also a specific completion problem to know about before chasing the full set. **Capped**, the achievement for attaching a screenshot to a Forge map, is currently flagged discontinued by TrueAchievements. Its forum records the flag being added in May 2024, and the game listing still carries the discontinued warning at this check. That's a community tracking status, not a claim that every Forge feature has shut down. [Current listing](https://t.co/YeqqGXSKoT) and [flag history](https://t.co/gjAyYEqC1J). I wouldn't sell this as an easy, guaranteed 1,000-point cleanup. Check that issue first, then decide whether you want to work on the available creative and custom-game tasks anyway. **Keep the remaining list honest** Split what's left into three groups: - Things you can finish yourself in the menus or campaign modes. - Things that need other players or a particular matchmaking rotation. - Things with a specific reported service or achievement problem. That makes it much easier to see what you can actually work on tonight. A missing Breakout match, an unfinished campaign challenge and Forge's screenshot issue need different solutions. They shouldn't all end up under “Halo 5 is broken.”
