**Halo 5: finishing the campaign achievements**
*Halo 5: Guardians on Xbox. This is not an MCC achievement list.*
Halo 5 gets much easier to organize when you stop treating every campaign achievement as part of one enormous run. Solo Legendary, Heroic co-op, collecting and individual mission challenges overlap in places, but they aren't interchangeable.
I'd keep a simple checklist with three columns beside each mission: solo difficulty, co-op difficulty, and collectibles. Then put the unusual challenge beside the mission where it happens. That makes a missing completion much easier to investigate than a single note saying “campaign done.”
**Finish all fifteen missions, including the quiet ones**
The campaign order is:
- Osiris
- Blue Team
- Glassed
- Meridian Station
- Unconfirmed
- Evacuation
- Reunion
- Swords of Sanghelios
- Alliance
- Enemy Lines
- Before the Storm
- Battle of Sunaion
- Genesis
- The Breaking
- Guardians
Meridian Station, Alliance and Before the Storm are still missions. Their conversations are short, but skipping them when you replay at a different difficulty can leave the campaign requirement unfinished.
**Legacy** is the Normal campaign completion, **Heroes Rise** is Heroic, and **Forging a Legend** is Legendary. **Lone Wolf** specifically requires completing every mission solo on Legendary. An AI fireteam is part of solo Halo 5; a human co-op partner changes the category.
If you enjoy working up to Legendary, do that. Starting at the hardest setting isn't a requirement for an efficient plan. Learning the fights on a more comfortable difficulty can save a lot of frustration when you're alone against the Knights and Wardens later.
**Keep a separate Heroic co-op record**
**One for All** requires a co-op mission on Heroic. **All for One** extends that to the whole campaign. Legendary co-op also meets the difficulty threshold, but it does not replace the solo requirement for Lone Wolf.
Invite your group into the co-op campaign rather than assuming campaign matchmaking will supply partners. Keep a shared list of the missions everyone has finished. If a friend misses a session, identify their missing missions before starting another whole run.
For the cleanest record, have the intended players present from the start of a mission through its completion. Drop-in and drop-out convenience isn't a reason to assume a player who missed most of a mission received every kind of credit.
Use the group runs for the genuinely coordinated challenges: the simultaneous assassinations in Blue Team, the shared vehicle kills in Unconfirmed, and keeping both Mantises through Swords of Sanghelios. Explain the objective before the encounter. A partner who doesn't know about the achievement can accidentally ruin it while playing perfectly well.
**Collect separately when the fighting gets in the way**
There are **117 intel recordings and 13 skulls**. Conspiracy Theory and Gravedigger cover your first intel and skull; Hunt the Truth and Gravelord cover their full sets.
The mission guides break the locations down by physical route. Use those alongside the game's collected totals. Don't rely only on a menu list's order, because travel order and recording order don't always match.
Easy is useful for most collecting. The major difficulty exception is Iron in Glassed: its special vehicle encounter requires Legendary. Thunderstorm in Evacuation has a different restriction—the five-cone opening challenge—followed by a physical pickup near the end.
Finding a skull and activating a skull are separate actions. You don't need to make an ordinary collecting run harder by enabling everything you've just found.
**My Rules is a small job, not a LASO campaign**
My Rules requires completing a mission on Heroic with at least three skulls active. It does not ask for the whole game with every skull.
One of the noncombat missions is a sensible choice after you've unlocked enough skulls. Select Heroic, enable at least three, complete the required conversations and finish the mission normally. Check the settings before launching rather than assuming the selections carried over from your last session.
Halo 5's achievement set doesn't contain an MCC-style LASO campaign completion achievement. You can still play LASO as a personal challenge, but don't confuse it with a requirement for finishing the Guardians list.
**Give the restrictive challenges their own attempt**
Some challenges are more demanding because they remove an option or ask you to preserve something vulnerable. Those deserve a clear plan:
- Decide before Glassed whether you're doing the on-foot or no-Smart-Link challenge.
- Prepare before Evacuation if you're protecting miners or attempting Fire Drill.
- Read Reunion's Phantom and Phaeton conditions before taking the obvious vehicle route.
- Know which Kraken actions matter before boarding it in Enemy Lines.
- Check the separate vehicle requirements before Genesis.
- Treat the late Warden and power-core challenges as coordinated objectives, not things you hope happened during the fight.
The individual guides contain the actual unlock conditions. This list is a reminder of where to stop and plan, not a replacement for those instructions.
**If an achievement doesn't appear**
First check what you actually completed: the mission, difficulty, solo/co-op category and any restriction. A Legendary co-op completion cannot fill a missing solo Legendary box, and surviving the end of Evacuation doesn't prove the miners met their earlier condition.
Keep the mission result and achievement tracker together when investigating a discrepancy. Replay the identified missing requirement before assuming all fifteen missions need to be repeated. If the game and platform records disagree, describe the exact mismatch when seeking support rather than changing unrelated settings at random.
Campaign completion also isn't the whole Halo 5 list. Score Attack, Warzone, Firefight and multiplayer have their own requirements. Finish this checklist, then move into those modes with a separate plan instead of wondering why the total is still short.
