**Halo 5 — Alliance: take a look around before boarding the Pelican**
*Halo 5: Guardians, Xbox campaign. Mission spoilers.*
Alliance is a short visit to the Swords of Sanghelios camp. You can finish the required conversations quickly, but there are eight intel items here and no firefight pushing you toward the exit. This is a good place to put the objective marker aside for a few minutes.
The mission doesn't have a skull. Once you've found the eight recordings, you don't need to keep searching the cliffs for a ninth collectible.
**The eight-stop camp sweep**
The numbers below are this route's checklist, not an instruction to follow a particular recording-series order.
1. **Behind the starting position:** Turn around, climb toward the stone arch, and inspect the boxes.
2. **Tunnel above the first Elite:** Climb the rocks behind the lone Elite on the left. Cross the stone bridge to the right and check inside the tunnel.
3. **Medical-area overlook:** Continue around to the makeshift medical area; climb its nearby ledge and inspect the recording above it.
4. **The central spire:** Return toward the Grunts on the overlooking ledge. Jump to the separate stone pillar in front of them and collect its recording.
5. **Halsey's cave:** Search the dark alcove behind Halsey's platform. The recording is on a box inside.
6. **The taller rear pillar:** Toward Palmer, climb the rocks and leaning pillar, then jump to the standing pillar for another recording.
7. **Beside the Pelican:** Check the area immediately to the aircraft's left.
8. **Ruins beside the Pelican:** Climb the adjoining ruins and inspect the purple crates near their edge.
The two pillar stops are separate. If your count is seven, don't assume you collected both simply because you remember making a jump. Compare the central spire near the Grunts with the taller pillar farther back toward Palmer.
Use the scan to help locate nearby interactable objects, but physically check the shelves and tops of the structures. A recording above your head can be close enough to hear while remaining out of sight from the main path.
**Halsey's briefing**
Speak to Halsey at the platform with the Forerunner hologram. She explains the need for a Constructor as part of reaching the Guardian. That briefing sets up the next mission, Enemy Lines.
You can use her position as a landmark while searching the camp. Just don't confuse completing the required conversation with completing the intel sweep. The collectible recordings are separate objects.
**Stay for the conversations**
There is an Elite and a Grunt, Dimkee Hotay, overlooking the scenery. Stand nearby and let their exchange play out. It's an easy bit of character dialogue to miss if you only run between objective markers.
This is also one of the places where Halo lets you spend a little time around the Elites outside a battle. You're not always seeing their world through the sights of a rifle. Giving the camp a proper look makes the upcoming fighting on Sanghelios feel more connected to the people already there.
You don't have to turn every conversation into an achievement task. Explore, listen to the bits that interest you, and use the eight-item count to keep the actual collection goal clear.
**Finish when you're ready**
After reporting to Halsey, find Palmer beside the Pelican. Agree to leave when you've finished exploring. That launches the departure and ends Alliance.
My last check would be all eight intel items before that conversation. There is no combat route to optimize here; the useful thing is leaving with the recordings you wanted rather than having to load the camp again for one overlooked pillar.
