**Halo 5 — Reunion's seven intel items, two skulls and mission challenges**
*Halo 5: Guardians, Xbox campaign. Mission spoilers.*
There are two easy places to get ahead of yourself in Reunion: walking past the early side paths because the Covenant are below you, and heading straight toward the Gateway once the fighting is over. The first costs you early collectibles. The second takes you past Fog.
For a relaxed collection run, you don't need Legendary. The Phantom and walking challenges require Heroic or higher, so choose Heroic if you want to combine them with the collectibles.
**Intel, in travel order**
The numbers here are route order. The numbers inside the Forerunner recordings' names are a separate story sequence; finding 4/5 before 2/5 is correct.
1. **Unggoy Personal Log 083 1/2:** Before the first fight, take the uphill left branch beside the shallow ponds. Check the dead Grunt at its end.
2. **Unggoy Personal Log 083 2/2:** At the first Covenant crash site, explore the elevated right-hand path. The recording is on a ledge along the detour toward the singing Grunt.
3. **UNSC Marine Status Update:** Beyond that wreckage, climb the right-hand rocks, then turn back into the high alcove. Search beside the dead Marine and heavy weapons.
4. **Forerunner Record: Search 1/5:** At the Covenant-held Forerunner building, inspect the alcove below the Shade-turret position before using the upper lift console.
5. **Forerunner Record: Search 4/5:** After Warden's introductory scene, break the left wall at the tunnel's second split. Take the winding passage immediately to the right inside.
6. **Forerunner Record: Search 2/5:** In the second Promethean canyon, check the lower ground near its entrance after clearing the enemies, before continuing to Warden's arena.
7. **Forerunner Record: Search 3/5:** After the boss fight, cross the first newly activated light bridge. Inspect the platform before crossing onward to the next structure.
Read the displayed name when you interact. If your count is short, that gives you something concrete to compare instead of trying to remember which identical-looking console you touched. An objective console and an intel console aren't interchangeable just because they're both Forerunner machinery.
**Grunt Birthday Party**
At the first crash-site encounter, stay on the upper approach and take the tunnel on the right. A lone Grunt is sitting at the overlook with the skull. Approach from behind and use the displayed interaction to punt him off. Pick up the skull left at his position.
You can visit this overlook before starting the fight below. Collect the nearby intel on the same detour, but check that you've actually picked up the skull too; the animation alone isn't the collection step.
**Fog**
Finish the canyon traversal and take the launch point out of the caves. When you reach the open area facing the Gateway, turn right and follow the rising path to the smaller Forerunner balcony. The skull is at the back of that structure.
Collect it before walking into the mission-ending Gateway approach. This is the final detour, not something hidden inside the Phaeton canyon.
**No Witnesses: prepare before the Phantom arrives**
Play on **Heroic or Legendary**. The target is the Phantom at the Covenant camp, not the earlier crashed ship.
After the first fight, take the Rocket Launcher and Railgun from the dead Marine's elevated alcove. Approach the next camp with the launcher ready. As the Phantom appears, establish a clear shot, use its lock-on, and fire promptly. Reload and continue; use the Railgun if it survives the rockets.
The practical problem is its departure window. Don't spend that window collecting the weapons or clearing every infantry target. If the aircraft escapes, continuing to kill the camp's enemies won't satisfy this challenge. Make another attempt from a suitable earlier checkpoint or restart the mission if necessary; don't assume a checkpoint saved after its departure can bring it back.
**Take a Hike: everyone stays on foot**
On **Heroic or Legendary**, cross the final canyon without entering a Phaeton. In co-op, that means every human player. Avoid getting into one “just for a second” to reposition it.
Follow the pedestrian route through the canyon, using rock cover against the turrets and Prometheans. Keep the objective marker available when the paths branch. There's no requirement to race through this section, so take the safer firing position instead of trying to imitate a flying route with a long jump.
For the cleanest attempt, start Reunion on the required difficulty, stay out of the Phaetons, and finish the mission. **Together Again** is the ordinary completion achievement; it does not replace the two special challenges.
My final check before leaving would be seven intel, two skulls, and whichever challenge notifications you were working toward. If something hasn't registered, keep the missing item's name or challenge condition noted separately from the fact that you completed the level.
