**Halo 5 — Meridian Station: finish the investigation and find all eight intel items**
**Meridian Station spoilers.** This is a short, noncombat mission. You don't need a new loadout or a defensive strategy; you need to speak to the right residents, use a terminal and finish exploring before boarding the Pelican.
There are **eight intel items and no skull**. This is also a good place to slow down and listen to the people you're helping. The settlement has more going on than an objective marker pointing at the next fight.
**Move the investigation forward**
Walk up to the settlement gate and enter after checking the first collectible to its right. Let Sloan's introduction finish.
Use Artemis to locate the two conversations that matter:
- Residents in the **Medical Unit**.
- Residents in **Unit 14**, the science building.
Listen, then use the interaction prompt to ask for more information. These can be handled in either order. Merely standing near one conversation and leaving before its follow-up isn't the same as completing both leads.
Once the investigation points toward Apogee Station, find the marked network terminal and access it. Sloan responds and provides a cargo Pelican. That changes your objective to boarding the aircraft, but you can finish the settlement sweep first.
**A practical eight-stop sweep**
The numbered order below is a route through the settlement, not a promise that the game's intel menu uses the same numbering.
1. **Entrance barrels:** before going through the inner gate, turn right along the fence and inspect the yellow containers in the corner.
2. **Landing-pad crates:** from the central area, take the raised platform toward the landing pad. Search the black crate beside the construction equipment on the left.
3. **Vending-machine bin:** near Unit 14, look for the vending machine and nearby blue trash bin. The pad is on the bin, not inside the machine.
4. **Ground-level alley:** check the container in the narrow space between the Supplies and Food Station buildings. This is a separate item from the roof above it.
5. **Medical Unit roof:** use the eaves above the doors to reach the roof and inspect the pad up there.
6. **High tower:** from the elevated building route, use the neighboring stairs and roof to jump onto the tall water-tower platform. Search the box at the top.
7. **Supply roof:** descend to the nearby supply-building roof with the prominent yellow drum and check its crate.
8. **Back-right gate:** using the settlement entrance as your reference, follow the right fence to the rear gate. Search the storage crate near the residents and equipment.
Use the scanner while you're on the roofs, not just at street level. If the counter is one short, the ground-level alley, the separate supply roof and the higher tower are easy to mentally combine into a single stop even though they're different places.
The landing-pad item can be collected early or immediately before boarding. Either way, get it before using the aircraft's boarding point.
**The vending-machine extra**
There is an optional little distraction beside the bin collectible: activate the vending machine eleven times for its special surprise. It isn't a skull and doesn't replace one of the eight intel pickups.
If you're only interested in finishing the campaign, you can leave that alone. The two resident leads and network terminal are the actual investigation steps.
**Finish the mission**
When you're done exploring, follow the boarding objective to the cargo Pelican and approach its rear boarding area. That ends Meridian Station and moves the story toward Apogee.
Completion awards **Roots of the Earth**. Keep the mission on your difficulty/co-op checklist as well: a noncombat chapter is still a chapter in the campaign's completion requirements.
Before leaving, the useful checklist is short: two leads investigated, terminal accessed, eight intel recorded, then Pelican boarded. There is no hidden combat wave you need to trigger in town.
