**Halo 5 — Glassed: Iron, six intel items and the two restricted runs**
**Glassed spoilers.** This mission's skull is the important exception to a casual collectible sweep: **Iron requires a Legendary-specific event**. Its ordinary intel can be collected without that extra challenge.
I'd split the cleanup into two runs: one on Legendary for Iron, another on Easy for the no-vehicle and no-Smart-Link achievements. That keeps you from trying to satisfy two incompatible plans at once.
**Six intel locations**
1. **Elevator lobby:** before going outside, check the far-right side near the Welcome to Meridian display. The pad sits on a yellow crate by the wall.
2. **Courtyard radio:** outside, head left toward the large staircase. Search the tarp-covered containers beside it.
3. **Security office:** enter the small office below the Security building's upper level. The pad is on a chair beside the console.
4. **Roadside radio:** before crossing the bridge, look right for the crashed ship and red containers. Search behind the containers at the wreck.
5. **Beyond the bridge:** near the Traffic Ahead sign, check the small side work area to the left for a pad on a desk.
6. **Scorpion garage:** inside Garage 14, inspect the area behind the tank before driving away.
There are radios as well as pads here. Interact with the object instead of assuming a piece of background audio has already credited it.
**Triggering Iron**
Start Glassed on **Legendary** and reach the service garage. Obtain the Scorpion, then move uphill toward Meridian Station. Clear the turrets along the approach so they aren't damaging you while you try to aim at the sky.
After the rocky arch, watch for a cargo transport with a Phaeton pursuing it. Destroy the **Phaeton before it destroys the transport**. The straightforward method uses the Scorpion cannon; lead the moving target rather than placing every shot directly on its current position.
The skull does not simply sit in the garage from the start. This interception triggers its appearance. A celebratory sound confirms the successful event. If you miss the chance, retry from an earlier checkpoint while the interception is still available.
**Check all three possible skull positions**
After the successful interception, backtrack and search:
- **Fence:** between two yellow barrels beside the nearby fence.
- **Garage roof:** beneath a yellow barrel on the roof of the building that housed the Scorpion. Move the barrel out of the way.
- **Rock arch:** beneath the small arch near the yard's entrance from McCord River Bridge, beside two metal crates.
The location varies. An empty garage roof does not by itself mean the interception failed; check the other two spots.
Pick up Iron and confirm it is recorded. You don't need to activate its modifier just because you found it.
**Going the Distance**
Finish Glassed **without entering a vehicle**. Begin a fresh mission for the attempt and remain on foot all the way through.
That means no quick ride across the bridge and no brief visit to the Scorpion's seat. Avoid using a vehicle seat just to move something out of your way. There is a complete foot route through the mission.
Easy is a reasonable cleanup choice. At the final defense, use the elevated side cover and handheld weapons instead of treating the tank as your only option. Give your squad useful targets and let nearby cover do its job.
**Shoot from the Hip**
Finish Glassed **without any player using Smart-Link**. In co-op, everybody needs to follow the restriction, not just the person who wants the unlock.
Keep your finger away from the aiming input. If aiming is so automatic that you keep doing it accidentally, temporarily changing the control layout can help, provided you remember to restore your preferred layout afterward.
You can combine this with Going the Distance on an easier difficulty. Keep the whole run on foot and fire without zooming. The purpose is a clean restricted completion, not a fast run with a forgotten aim press somewhere in the middle.
Normal completion gives **Glasslands**. After cleanup, check for six intel, Iron, Going the Distance and Shoot from the Hip separately; each is tracking a different thing.
