**Halo 5 — Glassed: the road to Meridian Station**
**Glassed campaign spoilers.** This is a conventional completion route using the vehicles the mission provides. If you're attempting Going the Distance, stay on foot throughout; the separate achievement guide covers that restriction.
The big thing to remember in Glassed is that arriving at a gate doesn't automatically open it. Sloan needs the attack dealt with before he'll let Osiris through. If the objective hasn't changed, look for the remaining attackers instead of repeatedly running into the door.
**Leaving the elevator**
After the elevator sequence, move through the lobby and into the attacked courtyard. Check the lobby intel first if you're collecting; it's easy to walk straight past it while listening to the conversation.
The courtyard has raised structures on either side of the road. Use those to break up the fight rather than standing in the middle with enemies above you. Clear the nearby Crawlers, then work toward a position where you can see the Soldiers without exposing yourself to the entire yard.
On higher difficulties, keep a way back into cover. A downed teammate out in the road is not an instruction to run into the same fire immediately. Remove the enemy watching the body or change the rescue angle first.
The local automated turrets can help. Reach their jammed control-room entrance, break through with Spartan Charge and activate the console. That gives you some extra fire while you finish the courtyard.
There is also a way to cut power to the exit gate: from the high sniper position, shoot the visible generator behind it. Use the scan and squad dialogue to identify the target. This is a gate power source, not a collectible or a turret you need to protect.
**Follow the road to the bridge**
Once the courtyard route opens, take a Warthog if you're doing a normal completion run. Give the squad time to board before setting off. A turret with nobody using it doesn't help much.
Keep the vehicle moving between useful positions rather than stopping beside every enemy. When you do stop to shoot, face the gunner toward the threats and leave yourself space to pull away. Try not to park with a wall directly behind you and enemy fire in front.
At McCord River Bridge, the gate is closed. Help the settlers defeat the attacking Prometheans. Use cover near the approach and focus squad fire on the more dangerous targets. Sloan opens the crossing after the attack is dealt with.
Watch the Warthog on the bridge: Soldiers can use it against you. Treat an enemy-controlled vehicle as a priority, not scenery. Disable the occupants or destroy it before letting it fire into your side while you cross.
**The service garage**
Across the bridge is another open yard with a Knight, Soldiers and vehicles. The Scorpion is in the service garage, but driving straight through the middle in a light vehicle can get you torn apart before you reach it.
Use the raised platforms to the sides for cover and weapons. Thin the defenders, especially the Knight and enemies carrying heavy weapons. Once the area is secure, Sloan has the garage opened.
There is an alternate access through the garage roof's breakable vent, but you don't need it for this conventional route. Clearing the yard first makes the next stop easier to manage and gives you time to find the nearby intel.
Restock and enter the Scorpion. Before moving, make sure you understand where its hull is facing compared with its cannon. If turning feels awkward, straighten the camera and hull, then line up the road again.
**Climbing toward the station**
Take the slope slowly enough to deal with the beam turrets as they appear. Fire from distance and avoid getting so close that your own shell blast becomes a problem. This is where keeping the tank intact pays off: there is a larger defense still ahead.
For the Iron skull, this stretch has a separate task on **Legendary**. A Phaeton chases a cargo transport near the rocky arch. The collectible guide explains the interception and the three possible skull locations. If you aren't attempting it, continue clearing the route toward the station gate.
I would make the skull attempt a dedicated run rather than mix it with the no-vehicle achievement. The straightforward skull method uses the Scorpion, while Going the Distance forbids entering a vehicle at all.
**Defend Meridian Station**
Clear the enemies already attacking the gate, then prepare for reinforcements. The first empty patch of ground is not the end: Prometheans arrive in additional waves.
Keep the tank where you have a broad view without allowing enemies to gather directly beside it. Aim at newly forming groups when you have a clean shot, then prioritize Knights and Soldiers with heavy weapons. Don't rotate the whole tank into a corner just to chase one Crawler.
If you lose the tank or are playing on foot, move to the raised side positions and use the available heavy weapons and turrets. Change position when incoming fire makes a platform unsafe instead of treating it as permanent shelter.
On Legendary, patience here is worth more than rushing the objective marker. Remove a dangerous firing angle, recover, then take the next shot. Keep your squad working on targets you can support rather than sending it into the center and hoping it wins alone.
When the defense is finished, Sloan acknowledges the help and lets you into Meridian Station. The next mission is the settlement itself, not another wave you need to provoke outside the gate.
