**Halo 4 Spartan Ops: fighting back through Infinity** **MCC guide. Episode 7, Invasion, spoilers.** The hangar, server room and engine room keep coming back in this episode. The objectives change even when the scenery doesn't. Pay attention to whether you're clearing a room, operating a control, disarming a weapon or sealing an entrance. Killing everything doesn't always finish the job. **1. Backup** Clear the Prometheans around the opening portal and shut it down. Destroy the shield generators blocking the cave exit, then fight downhill through the Covenant positions. Keep following the escape route and remove the generators powering the barriers along it. The Wraiths make standing on an exposed slope a bad idea. Move between cover, deal with the nearby infantry and keep looking for the next safe position before attacking the vehicle. If a Ghost is available to take, clear its immediate surroundings before boarding. At the final landing area, Murphy delivers Mantis support. Clear space around the vehicle before climbing in; the boarding animation is a vulnerable moment, especially on Legendary. Use its weapons against the hostile Phantom and finish the ground resistance so Murphy can collect you. Check which Phantom you're shooting. Murphy is flying a stolen Covenant craft, too. Help him by attacking his pursuer, not by turning both ships into targets. Once the landing zone is secure, board Murphy's gravity lift. The evacuation completes this chapter, not simply reaching the bottom of the hill. **2. Home Field** Clear the hangar and use the marked door controls. The doors reopen because the ship's systems are malfunctioning. Hold off the next arrivals until the objective directs you to the lift and server room. The upper walkway gives you a useful view of the hangar. The control rooms also provide supplies, but don't mistake a small room for complete protection: grenades and fuel-rod fire can turn a comfortable firing position into a trap. Keep an exit available. Activate the lift, follow the corridor to the server room and clear it. Start the power cycle, defend against the Prometheans, then activate the data link when the room is secure. Return to the hangar, clear the new Covenant forces and operate the local controls again to close the doors properly. That final return is required. Rebooting the server restores the controls; it doesn't remotely seal the hangar for you. For the server defense, I'd keep a weapon ready for a Knight closing the gap instead of carrying two weapons that both depend on sustained fire from a comfortable distance. Your first priority is having somewhere to retreat when the room gets crowded. **3. Engine of Destruction** Leave the hangar, then follow the changed objective back to the server room. Kill the attackers and disarm the first stolen warhead. Fight through the next resistance and continue into the engine room. There are **seven warheads altogether**: the first in the server room and six more through the engine-room section. Roland identifies additional targets as you advance. Use each marked device to disarm it, including the one reached in the engineering control room, and finish the remaining Covenant after the last bomb is safe. Don't treat the bombs like the explosive caches from the previous episode. Your objective is to interact with their controls, not shoot them. The first engine-room bomb is described as primed, so follow the active objective promptly rather than stopping to explore every corner. Clear the enemies covering your approach, reach the device and confirm that its interaction completes before moving on. On Legendary, taking a clean route to a bomb matters more than trying to win every exchange from the middle of the room. Move up after clearing the enemies that can shoot directly into your path. If you're playing cooperatively, one player can handle the interaction while the others cover the approach; solo players need to create that breathing room themselves. **4. The Guns of Infinity** The engine room is under attack again. Operate the releases to seal **five bulkhead doors**, then clear the remaining Covenant. Follow the route to Aft Weapons Control. Inside, destroy the **three hardware override devices** interfering with the cooling system. More enemies arrive, including Hunters and Prometheans. Finish that defense, then use the newly marked controls to restore the guns. The cruiser outside is dealt with by Infinity's weapons once you've restored them. The bulkhead controls are worth prioritizing as the objective makes them available. Find the nearest manageable approach, clear its covering enemies, operate the release and move toward the next. Standing in one spot fighting everything that enters leaves the actual task unfinished. In the weapons room, keep track of the entrances while shooting the override devices. An objective target doesn't stop an enemy from moving up behind you. I'd clear a workable section of the room first, destroy the device from there and reassess before crossing to another position. **5. Victory Lap** Clear the Prometheans in Aft Weapons Control, then head into the corridors. Return to the server room and defeat the new Promethean force. Open the onward route, fight through the hallways and return to the hangar. Clear the initial hangar enemies, but keep your weapons ready. Loading platforms rise with another group, including **six Hunters**. Defeat that final force to secure this section of Infinity and finish the episode. Save heavy ammunition before entering the hangar. The early enemies aren't the final encounter, and arriving at those Hunters with nothing but a nearly empty rifle makes the last fight much harder than it needs to be. Against several Hunters, avoid working so close to one that you lose sight of the others. Pick a side of the room, keep cover between you and as many of them as possible, and concentrate your damage. In co-op, drawing one Hunter's attention can give a teammate a better angle, but communicate before crossing each other's line of fire. The title is optimistic. Keep treating the room as an active fight until the final group is gone and the episode completion actually appears.
