**Halo 4: planning Naked Tyrant and You're Joking without mixing up the requirements** These are two very different projects. **Naked Tyrant** is the Halo 4 LASO Campaign playlist. **You're Joking** is a combined Legendary campaign time below three hours. You don't have to earn the speed achievement with the LASO rules active. I would get comfortable with ordinary Legendary first, then decide which of these to tackle. Knowing where the next door opens and where the next usable weapon sits is much more useful than trying to copy a risky shortcut you haven't practiced. **Naked Tyrant: launch the named playlist** Use Halo 4's **LASO Campaign** playlist and its prescribed settings. Manually turning on a collection of skulls in mission select is not the same achievement requirement. The list is a developer-defined combination of modifiers. Don't interpret the name as an instruction to add every extra skull that has ever been added to MCC, and don't replace its settings with a custom version you think is equivalent. Solo and co-op are both valid. Iron makes the choice important: dying solo restarts the mission, while a death in co-op returns the group to a checkpoint. That doesn't make co-op effortless. One player repeatedly taking a dangerous route can keep the entire team in the same encounter. Before starting, agree on some simple things: - Who carries the weapon best suited to the next heavy enemy? - Who handles the objective while the others cover it? - Where does everyone retreat if the fight goes badly? - Who calls the move through a portal, lift or vehicle transition? Those decisions are more useful than four people independently deciding to sprint ahead. **Practice what the modifiers actually change** Black Eye changes shield recovery: ordinary waiting behind cover is no longer your whole recovery plan. You need opportunities to melee enemies. That doesn't mean charging the strongest enemy in the room with broken shields. Look for a manageable target and a way back to cover. Famine makes ammunition more demanding. Tilt changes the importance of matching weapons to enemy defenses. Keep track of what you're carrying before stepping through a one-way transition. An empty favorite weapon is still empty. Practice troublesome sections on normal Legendary first. Then practice with the relevant modifiers before committing the whole playlist to a technique. A jump that works one time in ten is not a dependable plan simply because it saves time in a video. For the main campaign, make a short preparation note for each major obstacle: - **Dawn:** the exposed missile sequence and the escape route. - **Requiem:** vehicle survival, the Cartographer route and the gateway fight. - **Forerunner:** tower approaches and the Ghost escape. - **Infinity:** the defense sequences and the Scorpion-to-Mantis transition. - **Reclaimer:** vehicle objectives followed by the much less forgiving on-foot section. - **Shutdown:** the tower objectives and platform transitions. - **Composer:** the Hunter room and final Mantis battle. - **Midnight:** fighter flight, weapon resupply and the last platform fights. This is a preparation checklist, not a claim that a short paragraph replaces a full LASO route for each mission. The conventional mission guides give you the geography. LASO changes the decisions you make inside it. **You're Joking: improve the combined total** The requirement is all Halo 4 campaign missions on **Legendary** in a total below **three hours**. The recorded best mission times are combined, so this does not require one uninterrupted three-hour session. Keep a separate list of your best Legendary times. Don't substitute a faster Easy or Normal result. The individual par-time achievements and this campaign-wide Legendary achievement are not interchangeable. Use full-mission starts for reliable record attempts. Old community posts describe late-rally-point shortcuts, but later reports dispute whether those results register. I would not build a completion guide around that uncertainty. Start by recording a complete Legendary run of every mission. Then work on the biggest avoidable loss in your total. If one mission contains repeated deaths or a long stretch spent looking for a door, fixing that is likely to help more than shaving a few seconds from an already clean Dawn. For each replay, choose one improvement: - A cleaner vehicle section. - Fewer deaths at a particular defense. - Knowing the correct platform or portal immediately. - Collecting the next weapon without searching the room. - Avoiding a fight that doesn't block the objective, where the route safely allows it. Finish the mission and check the recorded result. An excellent opening doesn't help the total until the run actually ends. **Protect the progress you've made** Resume LASO from the playlist's own progress, not by selecting an unrelated mission and hoping it reconnects. For speed records, keep the mission, difficulty, solo/co-op mode and final time together in your notes. If an achievement doesn't appear immediately, check the recorded requirements before repeating hours of work. Don't delete local and cloud saves because a comment promises a universal fix. A disputed workaround is not a substitute for knowing which mission or playlist entry is missing. There is plenty of room to approach this methodically. You don't need a world-record route, but you do need valid records and a route you can repeat without gambling the entire attempt at every difficult jump.
