**Halo 4: what to finish after the campaign**
Halo 4 leaves a fairly specific cleanup list: seven terminals, the Marine defense on Infinity, the Wraith challenge on Reclaimer, and a handful of weapon-specific tasks. Your mission records are the useful starting point. Check which ones are missing before deciding whether the next run should be a quick detour or a full Legendary clear.
**This is the MCC campaign roadmap, not the original Xbox 360 achievement list and not a claim to cover every multiplayer or Spartan Ops achievement.**
**First, decide what kind of campaign clear you want**
The campaign difficulty achievements are:
- **Librarian's Gift:** every level on Easy or higher.
- **Wake Up, John:** every level on Normal or higher.
- **I Need a Hero:** every level on Heroic or higher.
- **The Legend of 117:** every level on Legendary.
- **Lone Wolf Legend:** every level on Legendary, solo.
Higher-difficulty completion covers the lower difficulty requirements. A co-op Legendary clear is useful, but it does not satisfy the separate solo requirement.
If this is a first visit, choose the difficulty you actually want to play. There is no obligation to turn the story into a Legendary checklist immediately. If solo Legendary is already the goal, check the solo completion record after each mission rather than discovering at the end that one level never registered the way you expected.
The eight combat missions are Dawn, Requiem, Forerunner, Infinity, Reclaimer, Shutdown, Composer and Midnight. Keep the cinematic entries in sequence when using a campaign playlist rather than manually skipping around and assuming the playlist will reconstruct itself.
**Pick up the seven terminals along the way**
There is one terminal in each combat mission after Dawn:
- Requiem — **War**.
- Forerunner — **Lord of Admirals**.
- Infinity — **Charum Hakkor**.
- Reclaimer — **Flood**.
- Shutdown — **Knights**.
- Composer — **Justice**.
- Midnight — **Cryptum**.
All seven contribute to **Terminus**. Dawn's Chief-records interaction is **Digging up the Past**, a different achievement. Don't count it as the first terminal and accidentally finish with only six of the seven real ones.
Take the terminal on a relaxed story run where possible. On a dedicated speed attempt, use the route you've practiced instead of stopping to search behind scenery.
**Give the special challenges their own lines**
These are the campaign-specific tasks worth planning before entering the relevant section:
- **Forerunner:** retain a UNSC weapon throughout the mission on Heroic or Legendary for **This is my Rifle, This is my Gun**.
- **Infinity:** protect all six Marines in the relevant defense sequence on Heroic or Legendary for **Bros to the Close**.
- **Reclaimer:** use a Wraith to destroy at least four enemy Wraiths on Heroic or Legendary for **Mortardom**.
- **Shutdown:** cause a Hunter to fall to its death on Heroic or Legendary for **Explore the Floor**.
- **Composer:** kill both Hunters using only the Sticky Detonator for **Give Him the Stick**; the separate Marine conversation is **You're No Chips**.
- **Midnight:** kill three Crawlers in one Gravity Hammer hit for **Chief, Smash!**
Those requirements shouldn't be treated as interchangeable. The three-Crawler hit does not require Legendary. The Hunter fall does require Heroic or Legendary in MCC. A rule remembered from an old Xbox 360 guide can send you into the right room with the wrong settings.
Use the individual mission guides for the setup rather than treating this checklist as a substitute for the route. In particular, prepare for the UNSC weapon requirement from the beginning, and don't destroy the Wraiths you still need for Mortardom with a Scorpion first.
**Separate the speed and score records**
**Easy As One Two Three** is the all-missions par-time achievement. **You Had it Coming** is the all-missions par-score achievement.
Keep two completion marks beside each mission: one for time and one for score. A fast clear can skip enemies that a score run needs. A careful score run can miss the time target. Neither means the whole run was wasted.
For record attempts, begin the complete mission, display the appropriate tracking and leave achievement-disabling modifiers off. Keep the final result rather than relying on a number you saw partway through.
The separate **You're Joking** achievement asks for all Halo 4 Legendary missions in a combined time below three hours. That is not the same requirement as earning every par-time achievement on an easier difficulty. The dedicated Legendary planning guide handles that separately.
**Use actual playlists for the playlist achievements**
**Chest of Gold** requires completing a Halo 4 playlist. **Devotee** requires three different Halo 4 playlists; replaying one completed list three times is not the same thing.
If you already want a full difficulty clear, starting through the corresponding playlist can make that run useful for both goals. For shorter additional lists, look at **The Covenant Threat**, **Canyon Combat** and **Tight Corridors**. Pick the ones that overlap with missions you want to revisit.
Resume an unfinished playlist from its own saved progress. Manually launching the next mission is fine for an unrelated cleanup visit, but don't assume it advances the playlist you left behind.
**Naked Tyrant** requires the named Halo 4 LASO Campaign playlist. It belongs on its own planning sheet, not as an extra modifier you casually add to a normal cleanup run.
Finally, leave Spartan Ops in a separate section of the checklist. Those fifty chapters are not part of Chief's eight-mission campaign. A finished campaign record doesn't mean that work is finished, and a missing Spartan Ops achievement doesn't mean your campaign clear was invalid.
