**Halo 4: Composer — clear Ivanoff Station and defend the atrium**
**The Master Chief Collection. Mission spoilers. Conventional route.**
Composer has a lot of close rooms, but the enemies you need to notice first are often above you or across the room. Jackals on catwalks and a gunner at the far end of a passage can make an otherwise ordinary fight miserable if you keep concentrating on the Grunts directly ahead.
This is also where the Sticky Detonator gets a proper workout. If you want **Give Him the Stick**, save it for the two Hunters and use only that weapon against them. You don't need to restrict the rest of the mission to it.
**Fight into the landing bays**
Move through the opening rooms and help the defenders in the corridor. Pick up the Sticky Detonator dropped by the fallen Marine if you're taking it forward. There are Hologram abilities near the opening route if you'd like a distraction for the coming fights.
In the first bay, remove the elevated Jackal before crossing the open floor. Clear the nearby infantry, move through the structure on the right and check the scaffolding across the next area for more ranged enemies.
Work through the passage and upstairs toward the next landing bay. Take a DMR if you need a dependable answer to those longer firing angles.
**Close the emergency barricade**
Phantoms continue bringing enemies into the bay. The objective is to reach the barricade control, not stand in one spot trying to exhaust an endless-looking supply of reinforcements.
Use the upper position and available turret to clear a route. When the approach is manageable, move to the marked switch at the end of the landing platform and close the emergency barricade.
Deal with the enemies still inside, then continue through the marked exit. Be ready when the doorway opens; don't walk through it while reloading both weapons.
The next rooms have ramps, stairs and firing positions at different heights. Remove the turret and snipers before climbing into their view. Follow the upward route toward the laboratory, keeping space from sword-wielding Elites.
**The Hunter laboratory**
A scientist warns you about the two Hunters and offers a Thruster Pack along the approach. It can help you dodge and change sides during the fight, but don't use it to launch yourself into the second Hunter while avoiding the first.
Enter the lab with a plan. If you're doing the Sticky Detonator challenge, don't soften them with your other weapons just because a guide says the final hit might be enough. Using the required weapon throughout the fight avoids that uncertainty.
There are additional Sticky Detonator supplies in the room, including the small office toward the back right. Use the room's obstacles to separate firing angles, attach a charge to an exposed part of a Hunter and detonate it after moving clear. Reload from cover. Don't remain in front of its shield waiting for it to cooperate.
Once both Hunters are dead, operate the control at the rear to meet Dr. Tillson.
**Two detours in the Composer atrium**
After the scene, follow the door on the right into the large area containing the Composer.
For the terminal, check the rocky recess beneath the **ATRIUM** sign on the right as you enter. Activate it before continuing across the area.
For **You're No Chips**, head toward the platform marked Ivanoff Station, where two Mantis units are being tested. Stop near the personnel there and listen to their conversation about the controls. Don't immediately climb into a machine or run past if you want the dialogue achievement.
With those handled, follow the objective toward the station defenses.
**Use the service route around the blocked door**
Wait for the guard to open the entrance, then move up into the next section. When the far door closes, turn back toward the entrance and look beside it for the service tunnel.
Follow that passage rather than trying to force the locked route. Ahead, a plasma turret covers a corridor. Use the side-room approach to get an angle on it instead of walking directly down the firing lane.
Continue through the connected rooms. Several doors open to release more Covenant, so a room that looks nearly clear can become dangerous again. Keep some ammunition ready and watch the new entry points before moving into the center.
The survivors along the route provide access to supplies and an Auto Sentry. If you take it, use it to support a position while you move or reload; don't assume it can handle every Elite while you ignore the fight.
**Activate the defense grid**
Work through the next defended room and climb to the open exit. At the circular control area, check carefully for the cloaked Elite near the console and his companion. Deal with them before inserting Cortana.
Let the interaction finish, retrieve her and leave through the newly indicated route. The return corridors contain more Covenant, including a sword threat. Keep enough distance to react instead of sprinting through an enemy-filled hallway simply because the objective is behind it.
**Defend the Composer in the Mantis**
Back outside, board the Mantis and prepare for a sustained defense. Phantoms bring ground troops and vehicles while Banshees attack from above.
Use cover and movement to reduce the number of enemies firing at you together. Prioritize a Wraith with a clear mortar angle or an aircraft making repeated attacks rather than spending all your attention on a lone infantry target. Manage the machine gun's heat and use missiles against heavier threats.
The Mantis has shields, but it is not invulnerable. Back away when you need a recovery window. Don't let the excitement of the vehicle fight keep you standing in the center of overlapping fire.
When the defense is complete and the objective changes, leave the Mantis and return to the marked elevator. Activate its control. After the story event during the ride, open the elevator door when prompted to finish the mission.
