**Halo 4: Infinity — protect the Marines, collect the terminal and finish the pars**
**The Master Chief Collection. Mission spoilers.**
Infinity's Marine challenge is one I'd give its own run. Trying to protect everyone while also rushing the timer is an easy way to make both jobs more frustrating. Get the terminal when the opportunity appears, learn the defense, then come back for the other targets with a clear plan.
**The direct mission checklist**
- **Infinity:** complete the mission.
- **Charum Hakkor:** activate Terminal 3 on Infinity.
- **Bros to the Close:** keep all six Marines alive through the hilltop defense on **Heroic or Legendary**.
- **Ouroboros:** beat the **25-minute** par time.
- **Jungle Warfare:** beat the **25,000-point** par score.
The Marine challenge is the difficulty-specific one. Don't make terminal collection harder than necessary by assuming it has the same restriction.
**Terminal 3: turn around after the meeting**
Follow the jungle IFF trail until you reach the meeting with the UNSC survivors. After the cutscene, when control returns in the room with your allies, turn around before following them outside.
The terminal is directly behind your starting position in that room. Activate it and check that the interaction registered.
For a collectible cleanup, this location is also immediately behind you when loading **Rally Point Bravo**. That saves repeating the opening jungle just to retrieve one terminal. It does not turn Rally Point Bravo into a full-mission start for your normal par-time or par-score attempt.
**Bros to the Close: know which Marines you can save**
The challenge concerns the six Marines encountered after the meeting: the initial two and the four at the position farther along. Keep them alive through the hilltop defense while Cortana opens the door.
The scripted Marine death earlier in the jungle isn't something you're supposed to prevent. Don't restart the opening over and over trying to interrupt that scene.
Heroic meets the requirement and gives you a more forgiving attempt than Legendary. Co-op can help because one player can pressure the next enemy group while another watches the Marines, but playing with other people doesn't remove the survival condition.
**The route to the hill matters**
When the meeting ends, move ahead and clear the first enemies before your two Marines wander into a bad exchange. Use precision fire on the small enemies and remove Watcher support promptly. A Knight you fail to finish can remain a threat to the group while you're already looking toward the next objective.
At the next Marine position, help the defenders before pushing past their cover. Check that the group is still intact. Don't assume everyone survived because Chief's shields are full.
Keep grenades and explosive shots away from the friendlies. All six Marines must survive this section; friendly fire can spoil the attempt just as easily as enemy fire.
**Prepare before starting the door defense**
Take useful weapons and ammunition before inserting Cortana at the hilltop interface. Once the attack starts, you'll want to be watching the approaches, not deciding which dropped gun to collect at the bottom of the slope.
Use the turrets without becoming blind to the other side of the position. If a Knight or group of Crawlers gets close to a Marine, deal with that immediate danger rather than continuing to shoot something farther away simply because it's already in your sights.
With teammates, divide the approaches and call out threats near the defenders. Avoid having everyone focus on the same distant enemy while the other flank collapses.
If a Marine dies, don't continue under the assumption that the result will repair itself later. A checkpoint retry is useful only if the checkpoint is from before the death. Check the surviving group after reloading. Restart the section if you cannot establish that your saved state is still valid.
When the door opens with all six alive, check for the achievement. They don't need to accompany you through the later Scorpion and Mantis sections.
**Ouroboros and Jungle Warfare need different priorities**
For the **25-minute** time target, learn the IFF path, begin the door defense promptly once prepared, and know where the Scorpion and Mantis routes lead. On the final deck, destroy the marked jammers and perform the last MAC-control interaction when it becomes available. Don't keep searching for another objective after the game has already told you what to activate.
For **25,000 points**, use the vehicle sections to finish enemies efficiently without repeatedly losing a vehicle or restarting a fight. The Scorpion's firepower is useful, but watch the friendly troops around your targets. In the Mantis, remove dangerous fixed guns and aircraft before letting them wear you down.
Neither target requires turning the Marine challenge into part of the same attempt. Keeping those jobs separate makes it much easier to see why a run succeeded or failed.
