**Halo: Reach — a sensible order for finishing the MCC campaign achievements**
**Campaign spoilers. This roadmap is for MCC, not the original Xbox 360 achievement list.**
Reach gives you plenty of reasons to revisit a mission, but you don't need to turn every replay into five competing challenges. A careful Legendary clear, an exploration trip and a time attempt all ask you to play differently. Keeping those jobs separate makes the remaining list much easier to work through.
**Finish the campaign first**
The campaign difficulty achievements progress through Easy, Normal, Heroic and Legendary. **A Monument to All Your Sins** specifically asks for the Legendary campaign **solo**. A co-op Legendary clear doesn't satisfy that solo condition.
If you're comfortable going straight into solo Legendary, it can cover a lot of the basic completion work. If you're learning the game, start at a difficulty where you can actually notice the route and understand why a fight went badly. Repeating an unfamiliar encounter on the hardest setting isn't always the fastest way to learn it.
After a mission, check that its completion has registered. Keep the difficulty and solo/co-op record distinct. A campaign that feels finished can still have one missing qualifying mission on the achievement list.
**Use a nineteen-pad checklist**
Reach's data pads don't work like collectible skulls that unlock modifiers. They are readable records with their own story and achievements.
There are **nineteen**:
- Winter Contingency — pads 1 and 10.
- ONI: Sword Base — 2 and 11.
- Nightfall — 3 and 12.
- Tip of the Spear — 4 and 13.
- Long Night of Solace — 5 and 14.
- Exodus — 6 and 15.
- New Alexandria — 7 and 16.
- The Package — 8 and 17.
- The Pillar of Autumn — 9 and 18.
- Lone Wolf — 19.
Pads 1–9 are available on any difficulty. Pads 10–19 require Legendary. The fast-moving carrier at the beginning of Winter Contingency makes pad 10 a different kind of pickup from the stationary pads; use that mission's specific route rather than returning after the opening has passed.
Interact with each pad and confirm progress. **Canonical Conundrum** is the all-pad goal. Don't rely entirely on memory, especially because some external guides number pads by encounter order instead of using the game's 1–19 division.
**Keep unusual mission restrictions in their own column**
These deserve a deliberate setup rather than an assumption that normal completion covers them:
- Winter Contingency without entering a drivable vehicle.
- Two vehicle kills with one Target Locator strike on ONI: Sword Base.
- The escaping Zealot on Tip of the Spear.
- The corvette engines and escort within the three-minute encounter window on Long Night of Solace.
- Exodus without using an armor ability, including Sprint.
- Three anti-aircraft batteries during New Alexandria.
- The Package on Legendary with the Scorpion intact.
Use the individual mission guides for the exact conditions. Some descriptions have difficulty requirements that differ from the original release, and a promising old video title isn't enough to establish MCC's current requirement.
**Because It Wasn't Hard Enough** is a separate milestone: finish a Legendary mission with at least three **scoring** skulls enabled. Cosmetic or non-scoring selections don't replace those three. Choose a mission you already know well and check the modifier list before starting.
**Time and score are separate passes**
**Fast Fall** tracks the mission par times. **We'll Be Back** tracks the campaign par scores. They aren't the same achievement, and a very fast run that avoids most enemies may be poor preparation for the scoring target.
For time, learn which fights open the route and which are optional. For score, preserve your run and keep enough momentum that a long delay doesn't undo the value of the kills. A harder setting isn't automatically better if it adds repeated deaths.
Use the MCC targets in the individual guides. Original Reach score tables use different values. **Lone Wolf's 30,000 and 150,000 challenges are separate survival goals**, not another ordinary timed mission to rush through.
**Complete actual playlists**
**Reach Has Been Good to Me** asks for one completed Reach playlist. **Who Needs Red Flag?** asks for three. Choose three distinct playlists, finish each through its recorded progression, and check the completion indicator afterward.
Starting a playlist isn't enough, and manually playing its listed missions separately doesn't replace the playlist run. If you're halfway through one, resume it rather than launching unrelated campaign work and hoping the saved progression remains untouched.
The LASO Campaign playlist is its own advanced challenge. Ordinary Legendary completion and a three-scoring-skull run are useful preparation, but neither is a substitute for completing LASO itself.
**A couple of small stops worth keeping on the list**
For **I'm Sorry, Dave**, equip a weapon without an optical scope, such as the assault rifle, and use the helmet's zoom. Look at the binary text near the lower-left part of the visor and hold the view briefly. You aren't hunting a computer terminal somewhere in the campaign.
**Easy to Overlook** is associated with hidden radios in multiplayer or Firefight, rather than ordinary campaign radio dialogue. One option is Boardwalk: visit the lower Courtyard area's northwestern corner and look for the radio on a bench beside the overlook. Stay near it and listen. The official Halo site also lists the maps carrying the different conversations if you want to follow the larger story.
**Remember Reach** asks you to play Reach on the 14th of a month. Keep that calendar-dependent item separate from combat tasks you can finish whenever you want.
**The order I'd use**
Get the campaign completed at your chosen difficulty, then clean up the pads and observation triggers. Follow with mission restrictions, time runs and scoring runs. Complete three actual playlists, and leave the LASO and cumulative Legendary time goals for when the routes are familiar.
Then check Firefight, Forge and the player-versus-player achievements separately. This campaign roadmap doesn't turn those into campaign unlocks, and it doesn't claim that a few survival tips replace the work of completing every multiplayer condition.
The useful endpoint is a list of specific remaining tasks. “I still need the Legendary pad on New Alexandria and the Exodus ability restriction” is something you can act on. “I think I've done nearly everything” usually means another evening trying to remember what counted.
