**Halo: Reach — flying New Alexandria without getting lost between the jammers**
**MCC campaign guide. Mission spoilers.**
New Alexandria gives you a Falcon and a city full of distress calls. It also gives the objectives in different orders. If a walkthrough insists the hospital must always be first, don't restart your mission because Kat sent you somewhere else.
There are three main jammer sites: the hospital, SinoViet Center, and Club Errera in the Vyrant Telecom Tower. Emergency assignments interrupt the larger jobs. Follow your current marker, then use the section below for the building you've actually been sent to.
This is the conventional mission route. It does not rely on flying a Banshee through the hospital, turning the Falcon into an Easter-egg vehicle, or clipping through a building.
**Learn the Falcon before the city starts shooting**
Get into the pilot seat and follow the flight prompts. This is not the side-gunner ride from Exodus. You control the aircraft and its forward weapon, with crew covering the sides.
Practice a short climb, descent, and turn while you have room. Use the hover/altitude controls shown for your selected layout rather than relying on somebody else's controller-button list. A gentle landing now is better practice than learning by dropping the aircraft sideways onto a narrow occupied roof.
Keep an eye on threats behind you. Turn to bring a pursuing Banshee into a useful firing angle; don't keep flying forward while hoping the crew fixes every attack. Lateral movement and changes of height are useful, but leave clearance around buildings. A successful dodge followed by a collision is still a wrecked Falcon.
Before landing at an objective, look over the approach. Clear any visible turret or infantry threat that can hit your parked aircraft. Set down with enough space to get back into the cockpit. Parking half over an edge makes a routine return much harder than it needs to be.
If you lose your usable aircraft, the mission has a call-for-evac function. Get to safe ground and use the displayed command. Don't assume the original Xbox button prompt is your PC binding, and don't throw yourself off a roof because a guide says replacement transport should be automatic.
**Hospital: the exit fight matters as much as the entrance**
Land at the hospital and head inside. Descend through the atrium's ramps and stairs, clearing the occupied levels rather than dropping blindly to the bottom.
Look for the Engineer shielding the Covenant. Removing it makes the surrounding infantry much less expensive to fight. Use the upper positions to inspect the next landing before moving down; on Legendary, charging into the lower floor can expose you to several enemies at once.
Continue through the connecting interior toward the troopers and the jammer. Brutes occupy the approach. Keep your precision ammunition for exposed heads, and use available Covenant weapons when they solve a shield problem more efficiently than repeated DMR shots.
Before operating the jammer, replenish ammunition and identify your return route. This is not a one-way exit through a newly opened back door.
Deactivate the jammer. Elite Rangers arrive, and you must work back through the hospital to the Falcon. Watch the upper angles instead of assuming every enemy will stay at the level where you first saw it. A Ranger changing elevation can turn your former cover into an exposed position.
Keep a shield-breaking option for the return fight. The tougher Elite near the stairs is a bad place to discover that your only remaining ammunition is a nearly empty precision magazine. Break contact when your shields fail; the stairs and doorways are useful cover, not just scenery to sprint through.
Once you reach the aircraft, take off and wait for the next confirmed assignment. Don't hover directly outside the entrance while sorting out your map if hostile aircraft are approaching.
**SinoViet Center: prepare before touching the jammer**
Clear the landing area from the Falcon where possible. After setting down, climb the exterior stairs and follow the elevator marker into the building.
Ride the elevator upward. The quiet interior is an opportunity to look for equipment and learn the route back. Do that before deactivating the jammer. Remember where the elevator is in relation to the jammer rather than assuming you'll have time to search for it under fire.
The jammer triggers a Drone ambush. Your goal is to get back to the elevator; killing every Drone is not the objective.
A controlled retreat works better than either standing in the open or sprinting into an unfamiliar corner. Keep moving toward the known exit, use walls to restrict incoming fire, and shoot enemies that are directly blocking the route. If you choose to fight more of the swarm, do it from cover instead of tracking every flying target while exposed in the center.
Call or enter the elevator as prompted, descend, and return to the Falcon. Check the aircraft's condition before leaving. A rough arrival followed by a long firefight may have left it in worse shape than you remember.
**Club Errera: reach the upper-level jammer**
The club's exterior can be dangerous before you even enter. Use the Falcon to deal with the occupied landing area and hostile turrets, then land and go inside.
Troopers are fighting Hunters. The jammer is above the main floor. Don't spend the whole encounter looking for it beside the people taking cover.
You can fight through the room or move past the Hunters to the objective when the route is clear. The mission does not require a Hunter body count before you use the jammer. That does not make a blind run between them safe.
If fighting, give yourself room to sidestep a charge and attack exposed orange areas rather than pouring ammunition into armor. Watch the second Hunter while focusing on the first. Getting pinned against a wall removes most of your ability to avoid the melee attack.
A rocket launcher is available in the club. Check your firing lane before using it around the troopers or a nearby wall. If you're carrying a jetpack, it can help with reaching the jammer's level, but don't assume you have one simply because another walkthrough visited the hospital before the club.
Disable the jammer, return to the entrance, and get back into the Falcon. The optional club music and other Easter eggs belong to a separate detour, not a required step in the mission.
**Handle the assignment you receive, not the one in a video**
Between jammer sites, Kat may direct you to threatened troops, hostile aircraft, turrets, or another jammer. Read the actual objective before committing to a landing.
For a rooftop rescue, identify the friendly position first. Your aircraft's weapons can clear attackers without needing to land among them, but firing into a mixed group defeats the purpose of the rescue. For an aerial escort, stay near enough to respond to threats rather than flying directly to the destination and leaving the other aircraft behind.
Buck's escort is one possible assignment, not a guaranteed appearance in every run. If you're pursuing its achievement, a run without that assignment is not evidence that you failed an invisible trigger.
**Olympic Tower: six turrets, then the landing**
After the three main jammers are down, follow the order to cover the ONI evacuation at Olympic Tower. Destroy the **six marked long-range Shade turrets** surrounding it.
Use the building faces to break incoming fire between attack passes. Don't park in the firing lanes of several turrets just to finish one damaged target. Clear a turret, confirm the objective response, then reposition for the next.
Wait for the evacuation to proceed. After the turrets are gone and the three Pelicans have departed, the landing platform extends. Land at the new marker to trigger the concluding scene.
The thing to watch throughout this level is the current objective. A random emergency assignment, an optional collectible, and the final evacuation can all pull your attention in different directions. Finish the job Kat has actually given you, keep a usable aircraft nearby, and the city's layout becomes much easier to manage.
