**Finishing ODST's achievement cleanup: what to check before calling it done** **This checklist is for ODST inside MCC unless a section explicitly says Xbox 360.** It brings the campaign, recordings, odd little challenges, and version differences together. It does not mean that completing ODST finishes the entire Master Chief Collection achievement list. Start with your own achievement screen. A mission being familiar is not proof that every challenge registered, and an achievement guide being old does not make its Xbox 360 requirements part of MCC. **Check the story and the eight missions** Confirm that all six investigation clues registered and that Tayari Plaza, Uplift Reserve, Kizingo Boulevard, ONI Alpha Site, NMPD HQ, Kikowani Station, Data Hive, and Coastal Highway have completion credit. Then check the difficulty awards against the campaign records. If you want Legendary completion, an Easy cleanup of a missing mission does not fill a missing Legendary record. Keep the introductory and ending campaign entries in mind when diagnosing an incomplete campaign award. For each of the eight action missions, separately tick off the par time and par score. The individual mission guides provide the targets and their award names; the campaign planning guide collects all eight. Don't count a successful score run as a time clear unless it actually earned both. **Check the mission-specific detours** - **Tayari:** surviving Marine and Chips Dubbo encounter. - **Uplift:** the solo Legendary no-shots/no-grenades Classic attempt, if using this route. - **Kizingo:** pilot a Banshee; use the Wraith opportunity for the separate melee-destruction challenge. - **ONI:** three jetpack Brutes killed with a shotgun; cumulative Wraith destruction target. - **NMPD:** no sniper-rifle fire on Heroic or Legendary; five Phantom destructions; the Vandalized face. - **Kikowani:** seven Banshee splatters; hidden music cue. - **Data Hive:** consecutive silent rear attacks; Drone killed with a flame grenade; final recording when unlocked. - **Coastal:** give Dare a rocket launcher; qualifying four-player Déjà Vu run. - **Epilogue:** One Got Away's camera-dependent sighting, not a highway collectible. These are reminders, not replacements for the conditions in the mission guides. In particular, “I saw a Banshee,” “I damaged a Wraith,” and “I reached the hidden music area” are not automatically the required actions. **Finish the general challenges deliberately** **One Way Ride** requires a full level on Heroic or Legendary without using a health pack. Plan a route around the packs rather than brushing against every wall while injured. Taking damage is not itself the same as using a pack. **Just Sayin...I Ain't Dead** requires a level on Heroic or Legendary without dying. Keep this distinct from no-health-pack play. If survival is becoming doubtful, prioritize learning the route and make a clean attempt later instead of treating every damaged run as equally suitable for both challenges. **Deference of Darkness** asks you not to activate VISR during a level. Check the control you normally use without thinking, especially when entering a dark room. An accidental toggle is still an activation even if you turn it straight back off. **Xenophobia** asks for a level without Covenant weapon use. A conservative attempt uses human weapons throughout. If you use a Ghost for transport, do not fire its plasma weapons; driving it is not by itself the weapon use described by the challenge. **Bip! Bap! BAM!** needs a pistol Triple Kill medal. Find a group of manageable infantry, line up quick clean kills, and watch for the medal rather than counting three widely separated kills as a triple. **Pineapple Express** needs four enemies killed by one plasma or frag grenade. Wait for a close group before throwing. Damage across two grenades or a mix of grenade and follow-up gunfire is not the same requirement. Easy can make an attempt more manageable; protect nearby allies from the blast. The full mission guides explain the more specific combat challenges. **Close the city collection** Check the cereal box, five sleeping Grunts, and the Engineer kill totals on the MCC list. For recordings, verify the database as well as the individual achievements: twenty-nine city entries, then the Data Hive recording, then Record Store Owner. The audio checklist is map-assisted. Its short landmark descriptions need the linked numbered route, and its numbers should never be combined with a differently ordered guide. If you are missing one recording, return to your unchecked physical locations rather than assuming the last story entry lives at the last marker on every map. **Longer goals and the calendar item** Finish one ODST playlist for **NEXT!** and three for **Trifecta**. For **Safety Not Guaranteed**, finish one of the qualifying ODST LASO playlists; both are not required. For **Nagato Makes Moving Easy**, verify the qualifying Legendary best-time total is under three hours. **Do You Remember When We Met** is the date-specific one: play ODST on the twenty-second of a month. Don't mistake an ordinary session on another date for progress toward that condition. **What belongs to the Xbox 360 list instead** The original game includes **Good Samaritan**, its weapon-specific mission challenges such as **Wraith Killer**, **Both Tubes**, **Laser Blaster**, **Dome Inspector**, and **I Like Fire**, and its own collection-award structure. Those should not be copied wholesale into an MCC checklist. Its Firefight map-score awards, **Be Like Marty**, and **Vidmaster Challenge: Endure** also belong to that original list. The MCC Firefight guide explains the difference and the actual Endure setup. Backward compatibility does not turn the original game's achievement list into MCC's list. Keep the two editions in separate notes if you're playing both. That small organizational choice prevents a surprising amount of wasted effort.
