**ODST in MCC: Legendary time, par scores, and LASO without mixing up the requirements**
There are several different things people mean by “finishing ODST on Legendary.” Completing the campaign, getting the combined time below three hours, beating every mission's par time, and finishing a LASO playlist are separate achievements. One good run can help with more than one of them, but none should be treated as interchangeable.
Start with a normal Legendary completion you can account for. Then look at what your record actually needs. Replaying your worst mission is usually a better use of time than restarting the entire campaign because one number is bothering you.
**The campaign completion ladder**
MCC's ODST completion awards are **Rookie**, **Urban Warfare Badge**, **First In, Last Out**, and **Mean Streets of New Mombasa**, corresponding to Easy, Normal, Heroic, and Legendary completion.
For a first full run, start at the beginning and continue through the story rather than building an improvised collection of late rally points. Let the introductory and ending entries register as well. A campaign record with a missing segment is a different problem from a mission that simply took too long.
Solo and co-op are both relevant to the Legendary campaign goals. Co-op adds firepower, but it also adds coordination and connection issues. Choose the setup in which you can actually finish missions consistently, not the one somebody describes as universally easier.
**Nagato Makes Moving Easy**
This requires the Legendary campaign's recorded best mission times to total **under three hours**. It is not a demand for one uninterrupted three-hour sitting. Improving a mission's qualifying best time can improve the total without replaying every other mission.
The Mombasa Streets exploration segments do not add to that timed total. That does **not** mean you should ignore campaign completion records for the hub or assume an unplayed introduction is irrelevant to a missing unlock. Complete the campaign properly, then optimize the timed missions.
Make a little list of your Legendary best times. Find the obvious outlier first. If Coastal Highway took forty-five minutes because the escort repeatedly stalled, fixing that is likely to matter more than shaving ten seconds off Tayari Plaza.
Do not use an old webpage's service-record link as proof that your current account has those times. Check the records available in your own game and account. If the achievement is missing despite a qualifying total, preserve that evidence before replaying anything.
**The eight mission targets**
These are the individual par-time and par-score targets, not promised times for the walkthroughs:
- **Tayari Plaza:** under 3 minutes; beat 8,000 points.
- **Uplift Reserve:** under 4 minutes; beat 14,000 points.
- **Kizingo Boulevard:** under 9 minutes; beat 18,000 points.
- **ONI Alpha Site:** under 13 minutes; beat 16,000 points.
- **NMPD HQ:** under 10 minutes; beat 40,000 points.
- **Kikowani Station:** under 10 minutes; beat 42,000 points.
- **Data Hive:** under 16 minutes; beat 8,000 points.
- **Coastal Highway:** under 25 minutes; beat 90,000 points.
The eight par times add up to **90 minutes**. That arithmetic does not mean the three-hour achievement requires all eight pars. It gives you a sense of the available margin, while still requiring your qualifying Legendary records.
**Can't Stop Here, This is Brute Country** covers all the par times. **The Marine Corps Gives Its Regards** covers all the par scores. A score clear does not have to be your speed clear.
For speed attempts, learn the objective triggers and remove unnecessary detours. For score attempts, keep kills clean, avoid deaths, and pay attention to the time multiplier instead of farming indefinitely. Old advice about repeatedly destroying empty vehicles should not be treated as a reliable current scoring method; MCC scoring has changed since the original guides were written.
Use the game's displayed skull warnings. A modifier that makes the mission convenient can invalidate a time or score attempt. Don't discover that after the finish screen.
**Safety Not Guaranteed: use the actual playlist**
The ODST LASO award requires completing a qualifying **ODST LASO campaign playlist**. Choose **LASO Non Stop Action** or **SLASO Campaign**. You do not need to complete both.
Do not manually switch on a collection of skulls in mission select and assume that is the same playlist completion. The playlist is what organizes and records the required run. Continue through that playlist's own progress, including its listed introductory or ending entries.
LASO Non Stop Action omits the wandering investigation structure and is the practical choice to examine first, particularly for co-op. Before starting a long session, make sure everyone understands the selected playlist and the consequences of a death.
Iron is especially important: in solo play, a death normally restarts the mission; in co-op, a death sends the group back to the checkpoint. Black Eye changes ODST's stamina recovery to require successful enemy melee. That is not permission to charge a room full of shielded Brutes because you want your stamina back.
Pick manageable enemies, control the nearby threats, and use melee opportunities that don't trade one small recovery for a lethal exposure. Keep track of health packs separately. With Blind affecting the normal HUD, practice weapon handling and aim in familiar areas before making a long attempt depend on them.
The vehicle missions give you options, but they also punish careless damage. Take a serviceable replacement instead of insisting on dragging a burning Ghost through another defended section. During mandatory defenses, choose a position with a retreat rather than a dramatic view of every enemy.
For co-op, call out danger before a teammate dies. One player successfully crossing an area does not erase everyone else's exposure under Iron.
This is a planning guide, not a claim that the ordinary mission walkthroughs are tested LASO speed routes. Use them to understand the objectives, then practice the dangerous sections under the actual playlist conditions. Check completed playlist entries after each finished mission, and use the appropriate resume path when returning to an unfinished run.
