Halo 2 in MCC: Sacred Icon achievements and the Arbiter toy
Sacred Icon route and collectible spoilers. Halo 2: Anniversary in The Master Chief Collection.
The Arbiter toy is easy to miss because you're looking up into the wall while the mission keeps encouraging you to drop farther down it. Get that early detour out of the way before worrying about the clock. Mythic and the terminal come much later, in different rooms that happen to have some very similar architecture.
There are six mission-focused achievements to account for here. You don't need a special Sentinel Beam kill, a particular final weapon or a perfect run without taking damage to finish this list.
**The checklist**
- **Sacred Icon:** complete the mission. Any difficulty works in MCC.
- **Terminal Velocity:** beat the **15-minute** par time.
- **Guided Tour:** beat the **7,000-point** par score.
- **Determined:** activate **Terminal 8**.
- **Skulltaker Halo 2: Mythic:** find and claim Mythic **on Legendary**.
- **The Will of the Prophets:** collect the **Arbiter toy**.
One correction worth making immediately: Sacred Icon's score achievement is **Guided Tour**, not Fists of Fury. Fists of Fury belongs to Regret. Some reference tables have that label wrong even when the mission's score target is correct.
The toy also contributes to **Toybox**, but that achievement needs all eight Halo 2 toys. This one doesn't finish the set on its own.
**The Arbiter toy: look above the early walkway**
For a separate toy visit, choose Easy and use Anniversary graphics. Legendary isn't required for this item. If you're planning the grenade-assisted route, **Sputnik makes the jump easier**, but it is assistance rather than a condition for the toy to appear.
Follow the opening passages through the first two piston descents. You'll reach a large room where allied Grunts and Jackals are dealing with Sentinels. Continue across the small bridge into the next similar chamber. Tartarus's message about approaching a shield generator and the Brutes who failed there is a useful confirmation that you're in the right area.
Now stop looking for the next drop.
Above the walkway, on the **left side**, are raised conduits or alcoves. You need the ledge serving that row, not the piston beneath the normal route. Clear immediate threats, recover your shields and use a grenade-assisted jump onto the upper level. Sputnik is helpful if the ordinary jump is giving you trouble; changing that setting also changes the jump's behavior, so line up again rather than repeating the same movement blindly.
Once you're up, inspect the **third alcove to the left**, at the far end of that short row. The Arbiter toy sits inside. Keep Anniversary graphics active and move over it to collect it.
This is not the later Mythic location. Both involve an elevated recess, but the toy is early and on the left-hand side of its room. Mythic is later, reached from stacked crates, with its recesses on the right as you follow the ledge. Mixing those directions is an easy way to search the correct-looking architecture at entirely the wrong point in the mission.
If you fall, check what checkpoint you actually have before assuming you can retry from the same ledge. There's no reason to continue all the way to the end searching for a replacement toy location.
**Mythic and Determined: two later stops**
For the Mythic achievement, make the collection visit on **Legendary**. You don't need to turn the Mythic modifier on in the menu. Enabling a skull effect and finding the physical collectible are separate things.
After the later exposed Enforcer areas, descend into the dark Flood-filled interior and look for the prominent crate stack. Use it to climb onto the raised landing, then follow the row of dark recesses on your right. The skull is in the **third recess**, above a dead human Flood combat form. Approach and use the pickup interaction.
**Determined** is farther along, on a platform with an outside view and another piston opening ahead. Before dropping again, move into the narrow gap on the right side of the room, between the outer wall and the partition. Look back toward the inner face of that partition for the terminal. Switch to Anniversary graphics and activate the panel.
The terminal works on any difficulty. If you've already collected Mythic and only missed Determined, take the easier revisit. The companion collectible guide covers these two stops in more detail; neither requires searching the final outdoor camp.
**Terminal Velocity: finish the defense, not just the descent**
The par time is **15 minutes**, and any difficulty is eligible. Easy is a sensible choice for a dedicated first attempt. Leave the toy jump and the later collectible searches for another run.
Learn the repeated piston transitions before putting yourself against the timer. Recognizing the correct exit matters more than sprinting into a room and then spending half a minute looking for it. The generator section also has an objective to complete: deal with its locks and use the control rather than treating it as an endless shooting gallery.
Use camouflage to cross dangerous exposed ground, but have an actual destination picked out before activating it. Becoming visible while still wondering which opening to take isn't much of a shortcut.
At the end, reaching the allied Elites isn't the finish line. Continue through the encounters to the camp, defend it and allow the mission to end. Keep enough time for that last fighting instead of judging the run by when you first reach the snow.
**Guided Tour: keep the score attempt separate**
The target is **7,000 points**. Turn scoring on and check the final result, not just a number you briefly passed earlier in the mission.
A score attempt and a fast route don't necessarily want the same decisions. Skipping nearly every enemy might help the timer while leaving you short of points. Conversely, staying in a room to chase every possible target can waste time and expose you to unnecessary deaths.
Choose a difficulty you can finish consistently, then add only scoring-eligible modifiers you understand. Don't assume Legendary automatically makes this easier; repeated deaths can undo the advantage you wanted from the multiplier. Keep friendly Grunts, Jackals and Elites out of your fire, and be careful with explosives when allies are fighting close to the Flood.
Leave zero-multiplier assistance off for record attempts. A helper that gets you to a collectible is not automatically valid for par score or par time. Complete each record attempt in one session and check its recorded result afterward.
There is **no mission-specific Sentinel Beam kill achievement** to add to this route. Use that weapon when it helps the fight, not because you think you need to carry it to the finish or kill a particular Enforcer with it. A weapon-kill medal or a rotating challenge is a different system from this achievement checklist.
My suggested order is a relaxed collection visit, a clean completion, then whichever record is still missing. You can combine things when the run is going well, but don't turn one missed jump into a failed collectible, score and time attempt all at once.
