Halo 2: Regret — Assassins skull and the underwater terminal Halo 2: Anniversary in The Master Chief Collection. Mission spoilers. Regret has several buildings, more than one Hunter encounter and more than one hologram of the Prophet. “Look behind the hologram” is only helpful once you know which room you're supposed to be in. For these two collectibles, the order is **first gondola destination for the skull, then the underwater complex for the terminal**. Neither requires reaching the Prophet's boss room. This guide covers Assassins and Terminal 7, not the separate Prophet of Regret toy. **The difficulty detail that matters** Use **Legendary** for **Skulltaker Halo 2: Assassins**. Assassins is an awkward exception to the usual shorthand about Halo 2 skulls. The object can appear on lower difficulties, which is why some location lists say “any.” That does **not** make a lower-difficulty visit a reliable way to earn its MCC achievement. For the actual collectible achievement, go on Legendary. **Enamored**, the achievement for activating Terminal 7, is available on any difficulty. If that's your only remaining pickup, take an easier run rather than making the underwater fights harder than necessary. Keep grenades available for the roof climb. You don't have to enable the Assassins modifier to collect its skull, and adding it would make finding the enemies on your way there considerably less convenient. **First, take the first gondola** Fight through the opening structures to the first gondola station. The Phantom drops a pair of Hunters before that crossing. Deal with them, board the gondola and complete the journey across the lake, including the fighting during the trip. The skull building is the one you reach at the **far end of this first ride**. It has two turret positions above its entrance. Clear the defenders that can shoot at you while you climb. Don't start searching the roof of the building where the mission begins. That's a different structure, and following a toy or speedrun route there won't put you on the Assassins skull ledge described below. **Assassins: from the interior to the roof** 1. Enter the building at the gondola's destination and turn **right**. Find the large block or cube inside. 2. Jump onto the block, then onto the nearby light fixture. Use that height to reach the ledge leading back out to the balcony with the two turrets. 3. From the turret balcony, turn back toward the building. Use a grenade jump to reach the roof above you. 4. On the roof, work around the building's **right-hand perimeter**, continuing toward its rear. Use crouch jumps to clear raised edges; line up each landing instead of trying to run the whole edge in one movement. 5. At the far end of that route, look for the small grassy ledge with two cloaked sword Elites. The skull is between them. Get close and use your pickup control to claim it. The right-hand route is relative to facing the building from its front balcony, not a right turn while looking back across the lake. That distinction prevents a lot of unnecessary roof wandering. Take the grenade boost with full shields and a clear landing in mind. Place the grenade on the solid surface beneath your intended jump, then move upward toward the roof as it detonates. The goal is to catch the boost while already rising, not remain standing over the explosion. If you fall back onto the balcony alive, let your shields recharge before another attempt. Sputnik is used in some MCC collectible routes to make the boost easier. It isn't a spawn requirement for Assassins. Don't confuse a guide's chosen jumping setup with something the game requires before placing the skull. The sword Elites identify the destination; you don't need to start a fight with them to unlock the pickup. Once you've collected it, return carefully toward the building's accessible walkways and resume the normal route. Don't leap into the lake expecting it to be a shortcut back inside. **Terminal 7: continue below the lake** After the skull detour, continue through the building to the underwater lift. Clear its incoming occupants, board and ride to the submerged section. Follow the interior route until you reach the large multi-level chamber with a **huge hologram of Regret**. This room has Jackal snipers and other Covenant, including a Hunter pair during the encounter. It is not the small bridge-switch room from Delta Halo, and it is not the final arena containing the real Prophet. Deal with the threats overlooking the walkway before crossing toward the hologram. The terminal is on the elevated walkway level, on the **pillar or wall directly behind the hologram**. Circle behind the projection and inspect the structure itself. You're looking for the collectible panel, not trying to interact with Regret's projected image. Switch to Anniversary graphics and activate the terminal. Do that before taking the onward route and the lift back toward the surface. You don't need to wait until the end of the mission or return after defeating Regret. **Before moving on** Make sure you've physically collected Assassins and activated the terminal. Simply enabling Assassins in MCC's mission settings is not the collectible achievement, and picking the skull up doesn't automatically enable that modifier for your session. If you missed the skull and have already descended into the underwater section, don't assume you can reverse every lift and recover the original gondola landing. A fresh visit on Legendary is the dependable fallback. For a missed terminal alone, revisit on any difficulty and focus on the submerged chamber with the large hologram.
