Halo 2 in MCC: The Oracle achievements and the holo-drone you need to find early
The Oracle encounter and hidden-item spoilers. Halo 2: Anniversary in The Master Chief Collection.
The first achievement detour in The Oracle happens almost immediately. If you drop into the opening room and follow the conversation as normal, you've already gone past the opportunity you're looking for. The holo-drone needs to be found before its scene, not chased after it appears.
The other misleading name here is Leave None Alive. Despite how that sounds, it is a score achievement. You don't need to comb every corner of the station for one surviving enemy.
**The mission checklist**
- **Oracle:** complete The Oracle. Any difficulty works in MCC.
- **Reed the Strategy:** beat the **25-minute** par time.
- **Leave None Alive:** beat the **16,000-point** par score.
- **Fascinated:** activate terminal 5.
- **Skulltaker Halo 2: Famine:** collect the Famine skull on Legendary.
- **10 Minutes Too Early:** reach the hidden holo-drone before the Heretic Leader activates it.
- **Dirty Bird:** fly a Heretic Banshee, if you haven't already earned it in The Arbiter.
That last entry is shared with the previous mission. It isn't a second Dirty Bird achievement or a requirement to fly one aircraft in each level.
**10 Minutes Too Early: stay upstairs in the opening room**
Use a separate Easy run if this is your only target. The achievement is not difficulty-specific, and its name does not mean you need to arrive before the mission timer reaches ten minutes.
Pass through the opening doors into the first large room. Look for the square central structure and the glass tubes connecting toward it. **Stay on the upper walkway instead of dropping down with the squad to trigger the hologram scene.**
The documented climbing route is:
1. Go around the upper walkway to the right-hand group of four pillars. Use the nearest pillar, then the one beside the glass tube.
2. Break the glass obstructing the route into the central structure. Crouch-jump across into that structure, then break an upper window and climb onto its higher edge.
3. From the central upper area, turn back toward the side where the hologram normally appears downstairs. Reach the higher ledge on your right.
4. Look into the corner ahead and to the right. There are two high openings there; the drone is in the **right-hand opening**.
5. Use a grenade-assisted jump to reach that opening and move into the recess beside the floating drone.
It is a small device, not the full-size image of the Heretic Leader. Reaching its hiding place is the objective. You do not need to destroy it, carry it out or shoot the later hologram.
The last jump is the awkward part. **Sputnik is a documented optional aid** for this egg's grenade jump, chosen before starting the mission. It changes the boost, so don't copy the timing of an unmodified attempt and assume the same landing. Recover your shields between failed attempts, and check that you still have a useful grenade before starting the climb.
If the hologram has already appeared below, return to a suitable earlier checkpoint or restart the mission. Since this is right at the beginning, you aren't giving up a whole level's progress. Don't keep searching the now-empty hiding place or wait there hoping the drone resets itself.
For a visual reference to the geometry, [the linked achievement video](https://t.co/1eGteIoflZ) shows the intended subject and route. Treat the precise jump setup as something to line up carefully, not a promise that one button sequence works from every position.
**Famine and Fascinated: both after the long lift**
These are in the laboratory after the slowly descending elevator, not in the opening holo-drone room.
On Legendary, **Famine** is on the upper walkway opposite the entrance. Break the appropriate glass, use the central platform and posts to cross, then turn left along the far walkway to the skull surrounded by Flood bodies. Pick it up; walking near it doesn't claim it.
**Terminal 5** is downstairs in that same laboratory, behind the wall toward the entrance side, opposite the exit. Switch to Anniversary graphics and interact with it for **Fascinated**. The terminal can be collected on an easier difficulty if Famine is already done.
Get both before leaving the room. Neither requires cutting the cables first, and neither is hidden in the final boss arena. The companion collectible guide gives the full window-and-column route for the skull.
**Dirty Bird: another opportunity, not another challenge**
Later, the pursuit takes you into a Heretic Banshee. Fly it normally for Dirty Bird if that entry is still missing. Any difficulty is suitable; there is no required dogfight score, aircraft kill count or damage-free flight condition.
If it unlocked in The Arbiter, leave it checked off. The Oracle's flight is still part of completing the mission, but you don't need to keep getting in and out trying to trigger another version of the same award.
**Reed the Strategy: twenty-five minutes**
The Oracle has a longer par than the preceding missions: **25 minutes**, not fifteen. Easy is allowed for a dedicated time attempt.
The long lift and the later return through the station make route knowledge more useful than frantic movement. Know which door you're leaving through, keep the required fights progressing and don't interrupt the attempt for the holo-drone climb or Famine detour.
After cutting the three cables, follow the escape route back toward the aircraft and the hangar confrontation. Don't turn the return into a search for another objective upstairs. The Heretic Leader battle is the end you still need to reach and finish.
Give yourself time for that fight. A run arriving near the limit hasn't succeeded yet. There's no special requirement to defeat him with a particular weapon for Reed the Strategy or the ordinary mission-completion achievement.
**Leave None Alive: sixteen thousand, not twenty-five thousand**
Some launch-era advice still refers to a 25,000-point target. The current target is **16,000**. Turn scoring on and judge the attempt by the final recorded result.
This does not require killing every enemy. It also isn't a no-deaths achievement. Deaths and wasted time are bad for your scoring attempt, but those are practical concerns rather than hidden requirements suggested by the name.
Use a difficulty and eligible scoring modifiers you can actually manage. The Flood fights offer targets, but charging into a group with no retreat can cost more than the extra multiplier earns. Keep a ranged option for threats you can't safely approach, and avoid throwing explosives into your friendly Covenant squad.
Don't assume a speedrun bypass route will also give you enough points. Conversely, don't hang around indefinitely trying to squeeze another handful of kills out of a completed encounter while the time benefit disappears.
Finish each time or score attempt in one session. Leave zero-multiplier helper settings off, read the modifier warnings, and verify the completion screen. A skull setup suitable for reaching a collectible isn't automatically suitable for recording a qualifying time or score.
Once the six Oracle-specific entries and the shared Dirty Bird check are accounted for, you're done with this mission's checklist. No extra boss restriction or imaginary perfect-clear requirement needs to be added.
