Halo 2: The Arbiter — the conveyor-room terminal and the Grunts underneath the station
**Halo 2: Anniversary in The Master Chief Collection.**
The Arbiter's two main collectible stops are easy to separate once you know the landmarks. The terminal is indoors, after the hangar. The skull is outside, underneath the station, when you first get a Banshee. Grab the terminal first so you aren't trying to retrace half the facility after taking off.
**Settings and the two achievements**
- **Inspector:** activate Terminal 4 on The Arbiter. Any difficulty works.
- **Skulltaker Halo 2: Grunt Birthday Party:** collect the skull on **Legendary**.
If you're collecting both together, start the mission on Legendary. If you only need the terminal, you can take the easier difficulty and leave the skull for another attempt.
Use Anniversary graphics for the terminal. There isn't a second terminal hidden in the classic version of the room. For the skull, remember that Halo 2 uses a physical pickup interaction: get close and press your pickup button rather than just walking over it.
MCC also separates collecting a skull from enabling its modifier. The menu already lets you select the modifier; turning it on does not award the pickup achievement, and finding the skull doesn't automatically switch that effect on for the rest of your run.
**Terminal 4: after the hangar, not at its door control**
Play through the opening interior and descend into the hangar. You'll fight through that space and can open its external doors to bring in friendly support. **That hangar-door control is not the collectible terminal.**
After the hangar encounter, continue through the newly available interior route. The room you're looking for has **two blue-lit conveyor tracks carrying gas canisters** through it. The moving containers are the useful landmark; don't mistake every illuminated panel in the facility for the right stop.
Clear the enemies before going hunting for the terminal. A camera interaction is not a good reason to leave a Heretic Elite behind you with a clear shot.
From the room's entrance, work toward the far-right side. Find the ramp up to the upper platform and climb it. Look along the wall near the far exit, at the top of that ramp, for the Forerunner terminal. Interact with it in Anniversary graphics to activate the recording and earn **Inspector**.
If you're on the lower route and about to leave the conveyor room, stop and look back up. You need the raised platform, not a panel on one of the moving belts. Conversely, don't go searching inside the elevator shaft: this stop is in the later conveyor room, beyond the hangar.
Once the terminal is recorded, continue along the normal interior route. You still have fighting to do before reaching the Banshees. Finding the terminal doesn't mean the skull is immediately behind the next door.
**Grunt Birthday Party: use the first Banshee to go underneath**
Eventually the pursuit takes you outside to parked Banshees. Get into one, but make the collectible detour before following the Phantom around the facility.
Fly outward far enough to see beneath the arm of the station you just left, then descend carefully. Look for the **long horizontal structure connecting across to the opposite arm**. Underneath it are **three large hanging cylindrical structures**, with bright light projecting downward.
Your target is the **middle cylinder**. Don't confuse the horizontal connecting structure with the nearer support that bends into a vertical section, and don't simply keep diving toward the light. The landing area is on the **top of the middle cylinder**, where it meets the supporting structure—not at the bottom of the glowing column.
Bring the Banshee in slowly. Line up with the solid upper surface before getting out, and leave the aircraft somewhere you can reach again. There's no benefit in making a dramatic high-speed exit here; losing your ride can turn a short detour into a checkpoint reload.
Once on foot, follow the walkable space around that upper junction, underneath the overhead support. You'll find a circle of **dancing Heretic Grunts** with the skull in the middle. That's the landmark confirming you've reached the right place.
Walk into the circle and pick up the skull for **Skulltaker Halo 2: Grunt Birthday Party**. You don't need to kill the Grunts to make it appear. This isn't an IWHBYD-style random spawn or a checkpoint-count puzzle.
**Getting back without losing the run**
If you parked successfully, return to your Banshee, climb back toward the station and resume following the mission route. Don't try to make an enormous jump from the cylinder back to the main landing platform; the Banshee is how you got down there and the sensible way back up.
If the aircraft slips away or you fall, use an available checkpoint rather than assuming there must be a replacement Banshee on the skull platform. Check the achievement record after a successful pickup before deciding you need to collect it again. A delayed notification and an unclaimed skull are different problems.
If you've flown straight into the later pursuit without stopping, the simplest reference point is still that first Banshee platform and the three cylinders beneath its connecting structure. Don't search every rooftop for dancing Grunts. If you can no longer return from your current mission state, revisit from an appropriate available start instead of trying to force your way through closed doors.
One final version difference: older Halo 2 descriptions talk about explosive critical hits. **MCC's Halo 2: Anniversary Grunt Birthday Party uses the familiar Grunt-headshot confetti celebration**, visible in the remastered presentation. Don't use the original effect as a test of whether the collectible registered.
For this mission, your checklist is just **Inspector** and **Skulltaker Halo 2: Grunt Birthday Party**. The terminal comes before the flight; the skull is below the station, not on the route the Phantom is asking you to follow.
