Halo CE in MCC: 343 Guilty Spark achievement checklist
Mission spoilers, including the Flood reveal. This is for **343 Guilty Spark in The Master Chief Collection**, not the standalone Xbox 360 Anniversary game or Campaign Evolved.
Before you run off into the swamp, there's an achievement right at the landing site. It's a short one, and it doesn't involve fighting anything. The bigger challenges here are learning the facility well enough to leave quickly and putting together a proper scoring run once the Flood arrive.
**The six mission targets**
- **343 Guilty Spark:** finish the mission.
- **Get Me Out of Here!:** ride the Pelican for several seconds.
- **Skulltaker Halo: CE: Recession:** collect the Recession skull.
- **Bearly Contained:** activate terminal six.
- **Lightning in a Bottle:** finish under the 15-minute par time.
- **Circuit Breaker:** beat the 17,000-point par score.
Don't add **This One's for Jenkins!** or **Breaking Quarantine** to your MCC checklist. Those are achievements from the standalone Xbox 360 Anniversary release. The former is its Flood-combat-form challenge; the latter uses a 21-minute facility-escape condition. Neither replaces MCC's 15-minute full-mission target. The [edition-specific mission table](https://t.co/sSZEZDveqF) separates them.
**Get Me Out of Here!: catch the Pelican at the start**
As soon as you have control after landing:
1. Turn back toward the Pelican rather than walking into the swamp.
2. Move quickly around to its nose.
3. Use the nearby rock to jump onto the cockpit and the top of the aircraft.
4. Stay on it as it begins lifting away. Adjust your position to remain aboard for the required few seconds.
The [MCC achievement guide](https://t.co/71rpHkkXEM) describes this outside-the-aircraft approach. It is not the separate trick that prevents Chief from getting out of the Pelican in the first place.
If it leaves without you, restart for another opening attempt. There is no reason to finish the whole mission before trying this again. Once the unlock has registered, treat the normal mission as a separate job rather than assuming the ride has placed you neatly on the intended route.
I wouldn't attach an exact second count to this. The published requirement says several seconds, and the useful instruction is to stay aboard through the takeoff, not to jump off because somebody's guessed timer expired. [Second guide confirming the cockpit route](https://t.co/uAOvX59F4V)
**Recession and Bearly Contained**
These are separate pickups to check during an exploration run. Recession is the skull. **Bearly Contained** is awarded for activating the sixth terminal, not merely reaching the end of the mission. [Terminal requirement](https://t.co/ElWRSoqjhM)
Use the collectible guide for their actual locations. Don't leave the level thinking the story scene with Guilty Spark must have counted as the terminal. It doesn't replace that interaction.
You also don't need to enable Recession to prove you've found it. Keep the collection task separate from whatever modifiers you choose for a later scoring attempt.
**Lightning in a Bottle: under 15 minutes**
The par time is **15 minutes**, and any difficulty is allowed. Easy is a sensible choice for learning a timed route. [Par-time reference](https://t.co/sntgrRCuDa)
The facility is where route knowledge matters. Know which doors and lifts take you forward before starting a serious attempt. A fight that takes a little longer is one problem; returning to the same room three times because you chose the wrong exit is another.
Leave the Pelican ride and collectible detours out of this attempt. Keep your timer visible and concentrate on reaching the actual end of the mission. Escaping the building alone isn't the finish: the level continues outside before the concluding encounter with Guilty Spark.
The ordinary walkthrough is there to help you complete the level. It is not a promise of a sub-15-minute run, and this checklist doesn't invent a shortcut through a locked door or an untested jump to make the time sound easier.
**Circuit Breaker: above 17,000 points**
The score target is **17,000**. A higher difficulty can increase your scoring, but Legendary isn't a separate requirement for the achievement. [Score reference](https://t.co/G1HnWXv2zp)
Turn the score display on and make this its own attempt. A route built around getting past enemies quickly isn't automatically a useful scoring route. Fight efficiently, watch what you're earning and avoid spending the whole run searching for optional pickups.
Choose modifiers deliberately. More difficulty is only useful if you can handle the encounters without repeatedly dying. Likewise, don't enable a helper that removes scoring and then wonder why your kills aren't moving the total. Read the warning before launching.
Complete time and score attempts in one session. PC players should use the normal anti-cheat-enabled launch; those are [Halo Support's recommendations](https://t.co/Jv9M0J6lFL).
I'd do the quick Pelican objective first, then a normal clear with collectibles. After that, separate time and score runs let you focus on what you're actually trying to accomplish instead of juggling three different routes through the same swamp.
