Halo CE in MCC: Recession and the 343 Guilty Spark terminal
**Mission 6: 343 Guilty Spark. This is for Combat Evolved Anniversary inside The Master Chief Collection, not Campaign Evolved.**
There are two stops to remember here: one before you enter the facility, and one on your way out. The skull is a short detour in the opening swamp. The terminal is the one that can cost you a replay, because you need to leave a moving elevator at the right height.
You can get both on **Easy**. Use Anniversary graphics so you can see the collectibles. For Recession, walk over the skull; for the terminal, use the interaction prompt. You don't need to turn the Recession modifier on to collect it. Leave it off unless you actually want the ammunition penalty.
**Recession: check the left side before going underground**
Follow the opening swamp route toward the Forerunner building. The useful landmark is the fallen tree you cross on the approach. Around here, you see a Shade turret explode and hear gunfire from the structure.
**Cross the fallen tree, but don't enter the building yet.**
1. Turn left on the outside approach instead of following the entrance route.
2. Stay against the outer wall and follow the left-hand ledge around.
3. At the end of that ledge, look down. There is a lower patch of ground behind a Shade turret.
4. Ease down into that lower area and check between the trees. The skull is partly concealed by vegetation, so look at the ground rather than expecting it to stand out at eye level.
5. Walk across it in Anniversary graphics.
The achievement is **Skulltaker Halo: CE: Recession**.
There are routes straight through the swamp from the landing area, too. I'm using the fallen-tree approach here because it gives you a recognizable point on the normal mission path instead of sending you off into a forest with “turn left” as your only reference.
Do this before committing to the interior. If you're cleaning up an old save and have already gone deep underground, restarting for the skull is simpler than trying to retrace the whole facility. It's near the beginning of the mission; you don't need to get through the Flood encounter to reach it.
**Terminal 6: the final working elevator, not the first one**
Play through the facility until you reach the working elevator that carries you back toward the surface during the escape.
**This is not the elevator you use to enter the facility at the start. It is the final upward ride before you return to the swamp.**
Before activating it, look back at the doorway you just came through. The terminal's platform is above that doorway, partway up the shaft. That's the side you need to watch as the lift rises.
1. Clear enemies close enough to interrupt you.
2. Activate the elevator, then turn to face the entrance doorway behind you.
3. Watch the ledge above that doorway as you rise.
4. Jump from the lift onto the ledge when you reach its height. Do it early in the ascent, not after riding to the surface.
5. Approach the terminal and activate it.
That unlocks **Bearly Contained**, the achievement for Terminal 6.
Don't wait until the elevator is well above the platform and try to make a huge drop back down. The fall can kill you. Treat this as a short transfer from the lift to the ledge, not a leap from the top of the shaft.
After viewing the terminal, return to the lower elevator area, use its controls to bring the lift back down, and ride up to continue. In co-op, have both players make the detour together rather than letting one ride away toward the next area.
**If the elevator gets away from you**
Revert immediately if your current checkpoint is still before the ascent. If a newer checkpoint has replaced it, replaying the mission is the dependable fallback. Don't assume there will be a convenient control at the top to undo the missed jump.
Before leaving this mission's collectibles behind, check for **Recession** and **Bearly Contained** in your achievement list. Reaching the platform isn't the same as activating the terminal, and seeing a skull modifier in MCC's menu isn't proof you've collected its hidden object.
