Is another Shadowrun game coming? Here's what I could actually find Checked October 31, 2026. After talking this much about Shadowrun, of course I wanted to see whether there was anything happening with another game. You already know how much this series means to me. I would love to have something new to get excited about. But I don't want to tell everybody a new game is coming just because somebody posted a rumor. Here is where things stand in the material I could find. The Obsidian rumor In July 2026, reports circulated about an unannounced Shadowrun project at Obsidian involving John Gonzalez. They attributed the information to Chris Avellone, and the story was that the project had been put on hold during a reevaluation of the studio's work. That is the important part people can lose when the headline gets passed around: this wasn't an announcement of a game you can preorder. It was a claim about an unannounced project and a possible pause. I couldn't verify an official announcement from Obsidian or Xbox confirming its development, cancellation, platforms or release date. The July report and its embedded source (https://t.co/3vVcOwAcc6) link to Avellone's post (https://t.co/kY1EmzNUt9). The original X page would not load during this check, so I'm relying on the attributed reporting rather than claiming I independently verified the full original statement. Would I be interested in an Obsidian Shadowrun RPG? Absolutely. The idea gets my attention immediately. That is still a long way from having a confirmed game to look forward to, though. I would rather leave it marked as a rumor than turn wishful thinking into a release announcement. What Harebrained is actually showing Harebrained's current official site is promoting GRAFT, a story-driven survival-horror RPG. It had a new story trailer in July and a world-design devlog dated October 29, 2026. That is a real, publicly shown project from the people behind the modern Shadowrun games. Harebrained's official site: https://t.co/3G1Cd46AEQ. GRAFT is its own game. Calling it another Shadowrun because of the studio would give people the wrong idea. It can be something worth watching without being the next entry in this series. What that means for my Shadowrun plans For now, I have plenty I want to cover in the games that already exist. The old console games, the Harebrained campaigns and all that PC community content give me more than enough to get into. I haven't found a verified new Shadowrun videogame announcement with a release date as of this check. That doesn't prove nobody is working on one privately. It just means I don't have an announcement I can honestly point people toward. If something official shows up, that will be a very different conversation. Until then, I'm going to keep the rumors labeled and enjoy the hell out of what we already have.
