Pestilence and starting Johanka's DLC
You need to finish In God's Hands and Pestilence before Johanka's DLC starts. They can end successfully or unsuccessfully. Warhorse's own instructions say that, so failing to save someone doesn't automatically lock you out of her story. You also don't have to finish Theresa's separate story first. Pestilence has another timer to watch. Warhorse's patch notes give the quest a six-day failure time, but they don't say every patient is guaranteed to live that long or spell out the exact conversation that starts it. Don't use that as six days to go do other quests. Warhorse patch notes (https://t.co/aAszuLi4EZ)
Learning to read beforehand lets Henry help with the diagnosis and brew the medicine himself. Nicodemus can also succeed, so reading isn't a confirmed requirement for Plague Doctor, but it lets you get on with the work sooner. Pestilence reference (https://t.co/7w8tXyrDw6)
1. Talk to Matthias and Melichar in Merhojed. Check the sick households before you leave: Melichar's, Vincent's, Daniel's, Bedrishka's and Straw's. Ask about the symptoms. If you're helping Bedrishka bury her husband, dig the grave before moving him. Avoid getting into a fight with Straw. Village investigation (https://t.co/7w8tXyrDw6)
2. Go to Johanka, then Nicodemus. Tell him about the sick villagers and the animals. If Henry can read, examine the medical book and identify poisoned water as the problem. Offer to make the medicine. Diagnosis walkthrough (https://t.co/sOr3bhwwRa)
3. Brew Remedy for Merhojed. Use water, two thistle, one valerian and one charcoal. Boil the thistle for two turns. Add the valerian and boil for one more. Let it cool, add the charcoal, and bottle it without boiling again. Remedy recipe (https://t.co/6bpfvfmvgi)
4. Return to Nicodemus in Straw's house. Give medicine to Daniel, Vincent and Bedrishka. Nicodemus and Johanka handle the other households, but check Straw's wife yourself and use any medicine option that's there. Guides disagree on whether you always have to give her a dose manually, so check rather than walking past her. Treatment instructions (https://t.co/7w8tXyrDw6), additional walkthrough (https://t.co/6bpfvfmvgi)
5. Treat the prisoner too. Ask Melichar for access, give the captive the remedy, and let him recover before questioning him. Once everyone's been treated, come back later and talk to Melichar about the village's recovery. That's when you can check whether you got Plague Doctor. Prisoner and recovery (https://t.co/sOr3bhwwRa)
If the prisoner dies, you can still continue the main story using the letter on his body. Keep your earlier save if you're trying to save everyone. Questions and Answers (https://t.co/5TyD6T3hPr)
Matthias being sick at Sasau later doesn't mean you missed giving him a separate dose here. His illness continues into Johanka's story. Matthias (https://t.co/N5k8Wgf0ds)
Once both quests have ended, return to Johanka at Sasau. If the DLC conversation isn't there, check that both quests really have ended, that she's back from Merhojed, and that the DLC is enabled.
Infernal Dream
Ask Johanka about her dreams and agree to investigate. You're heading to the mines west of Skalitz. Look in the northwestern group of mine entrances; the dead rider and horse nearby help you find the right one.
Take a torch, go through the tunnel and examine the bodies at the end. Then come back out and climb the hill to the shaft above them. Inspect the blood and follow it to the huts.
Save before you approach the man dressed as a Skalitz soldier. Talk to him if you want to hear what he's been doing, then deal with the fight. Search him and the hut before going back to Johanka. When you report what happened, she'll want you to accompany her to the marketplace for her speech the next morning. Infernal Dream walkthrough (https://t.co/nOwqwXJN1s)
For Infernal Justice, pick up the murderer's body and drop it down the vertical shaft where he put his victims. Killing him alone doesn't unlock it. Be careful at the edge so Henry doesn't go down with him. Infernal Justice (https://t.co/I9zQXG7KgP)
Casting Lots: Ambrose and Guta
After Johanka's speech, talk to Guta about Ambrose. Promise you'll give the money back, then find him at the Wagoners' Inn. Talk to him once about what's going on, then again to start drinking. Save before that second conversation.
You need him drunk enough to play dice while Henry can still stay conscious. How much Henry can drink depends on his Drinking skill and perks, so a fixed number of drinks won't work the same for everyone.
One way through the dice games is to bet 12 groschen and lose, bet 60 and win, then persuade him to keep playing. Bet 120 and lose, then get him to wager everything and win that last game. After you've taught him the lesson, give the money back. Casting Lots walkthrough (https://t.co/SS3LpLy5Pb)
Another guide gets him to the all-in wager by losing two games first. You can also outdrink him if Henry's Drinking is high enough, take his money when he passes out, and speak to him when he's sober the next morning. Give it back, report to Guta, and take his dice to throw down the well. Ambrose alternatives (https://t.co/2OJaIuXAjK)
There's disagreement about whether keeping the dice actually hurts the ending. Throwing them away avoids having to depend on that. Dice reference (https://t.co/swYgF2KzjX)
You had one job! requires Henry to pass out drinking with Ambrose. If you want it, choose the heavier drinks, get the achievement, then reload and help him properly. Some guides say you can't do it above Drinking 10, but players report getting it at 11–13 with different perks and some alcohol already in them. Low tolerance makes it easier; that level 10 cutoff isn't reliable. Blackout achievement reports (https://t.co/orGnlQpGhH)
