Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Story spoilers for Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy. The Lost Legacy takes two characters who already had their own place in Uncharted and gives them a story without Nathan leading the whole thing. Chloe was around long before this game. Nadine had just been on the other side of the fight in Uncharted 4. Putting those two together gives you a different dynamic right away. They're looking for the Tusk of Ganesh in India, but they don't start out as two people who completely trust each other. Chloe is willing to improvise and keep things to herself. Nadine wants to know what she's walking into. That makes the conversations between them part of the story instead of just something happening while you're driving to the next fight. Chloe also has a personal connection to the place and the history they're going through. It gives her more to deal with than whether she can get to a treasure before somebody else does. There's room here to see her outside of the part she played in Nathan's life. And then Sam turns up, which obviously doesn't help the trust situation. Nadine has a history with the Drake brothers. Chloe keeping that from her is something they actually have to work through. The partnership changes as the game goes on instead of staying exactly where it started. The Western Ghats gives you room to drive around and investigate the different ruins. You can go after the tokens, open the lockboxes, find the treasures and work through the forts before moving on. It still has the climbing, puzzles and combat you expect from Uncharted, followed by the kind of train sequence this series knows how to do. Nathan and Elena's story was one of the things I liked about the series, but that doesn't mean every story in that universe has to belong to them. Chloe and Nadine already had enough going on to carry something of their own. The Lost Legacy gives them that space.
