Golden Abyss — the puzzle stops
Companion to the chapter-by-chapter collection guide.
These are the places where finding the item and knowing what to do with it are two different things. I'm separating them out so you don't have to keep digging through treasure locations just to get a door open.
Chapter 2 — the lock
Enter 4, 11, 2 on the dial, following the game's indicated turning direction. Stop on each required number instead of racing past it.
Chapter 9 — the safe
Follow the four numbers displayed for this particular safe. Rotate to each one in the indicated direction; don't add an extra full turn after reaching it. This isn't a real-world combination-lock tutorial where you invent extra revolutions.
Chapter 13 — the parchment
This uses the Vita's camera and actual light. Aim the rear camera toward a well-lit area until the hidden writing registers. Swiping the parchment isn't the solution. You don't need to point it at the sun.
Chapter 15 — the seven symbols
Finish the four chimera rubbings first; their positions are in the collectible route. Then set the seven carvings from left to right:
1. U-shaped mark with a small upward-pointing caret underneath.
2. Upright stroke with a semicircle attached.
3. Y-shaped mark with a line across its middle.
4. X.
5. L-shaped mark with a middle stroke.
6. X-shaped mark with top and middle strokes.
7. Lowercase-b-shaped mark crossed near its top.
Those descriptions are there to identify the shapes, not turn the game's symbols into English letters.
Chapter 16 — the Seven Fathers
Use the overhead board view. Number rows top to bottom and columns left to right, starting at 1. Place the statues like this:
- Book: row 1, column 6.
- Hands: row 2, column 3.
- Staff: row 3, column 5.
- Chest/box: row 4, column 2.
- Scroll: row 5, column 4.
- Snake: row 6, column 1.
- Sword: row 7, column 7.
Each statue needs its own row and column, with the matching symbols around its space. Don't mix this table with a coordinate list that counts upward from the bottom. After it registers, return downstairs to the statues to advance the scene, then take the opened passage.
For the sword afterward, complete all six rubbings: three on one face, then the three revealed when it turns. One completed side isn't the finished clue.
Chapter 29 — the faces
Rotate the three concentric bands. Put the crown at the far-right face, then align the square eyes and earrings below it. Leave those bands in place and rotate the remaining lower band until the completed arrangement registers. You're assembling the faces, not trying to make every face identical.
Chapter 30 — the mosaic
There are 15 pieces and one empty space. The useful part is that a piece doesn't have to be adjacent to the gap to move into it. Match the supplied picture, working on one recognizable part at a time. If the piece you need isn't beside the empty space, you can still move it there. Don't make this harder by imposing the rules of a normal sliding-tile puzzle on it.
The earlier torn-paper and rubbing assemblies also use the displayed reference. Finish their completion indicator before leaving the journal; collecting the pieces alone doesn't complete every puzzle trophy requirement.
