Uncharted: series introduction
Story spoilers, including Nathan and Elena’s family.
Uncharted is another series that I played through. I liked it. It was a good story, and I really liked the direction the games took.
One of the things that stuck with me was the dynamic between Nathan Drake and Elena Fisher. You meet them in the first game, and their relationship keeps developing through all four of the numbered games. By the time you get to the end of the fourth, they’ve built a family together and have a daughter, Cassie.
I really liked that part of it. There’s a lot going on around them, but you still get to follow those two characters over the course of the series and see where they end up. That’s one of the things I want to spend more time talking about when I get through these games individually.
It’s been a while since I played them, so some of this is from memory and some of it I’ve had to go back and research. I don’t want to sit here and pretend I remember every little thing from a game I beat years ago. There’s quite a bit to go back through, especially once you start separating the original games from the remasters and the smaller games in the series.
The main ones are Drake’s Fortune, Among Thieves, Drake’s Deception, and A Thief’s End. Then you’ve got Golden Abyss on the Vita and The Lost Legacy with Chloe and Nadine. There are also the smaller spinoffs, Fight for Fortune and Fortune Hunter. Those aren’t the same kind of game as the main adventures, but I want to keep them separate rather than just leave them out or act like every Uncharted game plays the same way.
I’m going to cover the games individually, the trophies and achievements where they have them, the collectibles, the weapons, and some of the puzzles. I also want to go back through Nathan and Elena’s relationship across the games, because that’s a big part of what I liked about the series in the first place.
I’ve got a lot of games I’m still trying to catch up with, so I haven’t been keeping up with every rumor about where Uncharted might go next. But I think it’s a great series, and I’m interested in what else that universe could have to offer.
