Gears POP! — historical sidebar Gears POP! is one of the stranger parts of the series to look back at. It used Funko Pop versions of the characters in a real-time strategy game on mobile and Windows, which is obviously a very different thing from following Marcus through a ruined city with a chainsaw Lancer. It still used characters and ideas from Gears, but this belongs in the spin-off part of the conversation rather than being treated like another chapter of the main campaign. The important thing to know now is that it closed on April 26, 2021. So I'm including it as part of the series' history, not recommending that somebody go download it and start working through its achievements today.
