Hivebusters — all 15 achievements Expansion achievements only; Escape mode is a different part of Gears 5. Story progression The first six are story milestones; the seventh is full-campaign completion. None needs a separate combat trick: 1. Designation: Scorpio — Reach Sanctum. 2. Out of the Frying Pan — Escape Sanctum. 3. New Island, New Mission — Reach Weilehi. 4. A Breath of Fresh Air — Rescue Hana from the Snatcher. 5. The Spirit Walk — Open the Pahanu Spirit Walk. 6. Face the Creature — Defeat Wakaatu. 7. Enter Hivebusters — Finish every chapter, on any difficulty. Let chapter completions save rather than quitting during the closing transition. Abilities 8. The Awakening — Activate all three squad abilities: Keegan’s Resupply, Lahni’s Electroblade and Mac’s Barrier. Do not confuse collecting upgrades with using the abilities themselves. 9. Electroblade — As Lahni, make 50 Electroblade kills. Use groups of weaker enemies, activate the blade before closing in, and collect the duration/chaining upgrades along the route. Ordinary knife kills are not the target. 10. Ready to Frontline — As Mac, kill 50 enemies by shooting through your active Barrier. A useful cleanup spot is Chapter 4: after the door and Carved Canoe collectible checkpoint, drop toward the Juvies, put up the barrier and shoot through it. Reload that checkpoint for more targets. Watch your tracker rather than assuming an ability-assisted teammate kill counted for you. 11. Supplies for the Effort — As Keegan, activate Resupply 25 times. Use it regularly as you play and wait for each recharge; simply receiving someone else’s ammunition is not the requirement. Full-playthrough challenges 12. Rite of Passage — Complete all six chapters on Insane. Keep your own difficulty on Insane throughout. Mac is a practical solo choice because Barrier provides breathing room, but it does not make reckless positioning safe. Ask Lahni to clear close attackers and Keegan to replenish ammunition. Take every upgrade. For Wakaatu, use the large trees as solid cover, keep moving clear of poison and exploit attack openings instead of standing exposed to force damage. If playing co-op, partners can use an easier individual difficulty, but the player earning this must retain Insane. Do not rely on mixed Insane/Inconceivable chapter tracking: use Insane consistently. 13. Operation: Ride the Snatcher — Complete the expansion with three human players, one each as Keegan, Lahni and Mac. Plan a full run with the same three-person squad; AI companions and duplicate characters do not satisfy the requirement. Check everyone's chapter completion if someone disconnects. Collectibles 14. Renewed, Not Consumed — Collect all 12 ability upgrades: four in Chapter 2, five in Chapter 4 and three in Chapter 6. Follow the companion route. Keep one ongoing save; chapter-hopping can lose the upgrade progression you are trying to complete. 15. Searching for Answers — Collect all 23 story objects: 4 / 7 / 0 / 6 / 1 / 5 across Chapters 1–6. Use the companion route and collectible menu to identify missing items.
