Assassin’s Creed Hexe: RUMORS AND POSSIBLE STORY SPOILERS This is where the details get a lot more interesting, but also a lot less settled. There are different versions of the story floating around, and I don’t want to pretend they all fit together perfectly. The witch trials and the Auditore connection PC Gamer’s May 13 coverage of claims from leaker Rogue described Würzburg in 1625, with a woman named Anika descended from Claudia Auditore, Ezio’s sister. It also mentioned Ezio as a mentor figure, wooded areas, ritual sites, stolen relics, tree-to-tree movement, and people reporting suspicious behavior. Those are alleged details, not an announced plot. May report (https://t.co/GwzaW7Wlvj) An Auditore connection would be a big deal, but being related to Claudia is not the same claim as being Ezio’s direct descendant. And an Ezio appearance would still need explaining. I’m not treating a rumor about his involvement as proof that he is somehow alive in that period. Then the casting reports gave us different names October coverage of MP1st’s casting research described Petra, a woman in her twenties, rather than Anika. It named Augsburg and placed the story in sixteenth-century Germany. The reported supporting cast included Mother Gertrud, an older healer; Petra’s parents, Brigitte and Konrad; and a witch-hunting group called the Order of the Lamb. Konrad was described as a headman and executioner, while Brigitte was linked to the possible Auditore connection. Another character, Anna, was associated with Abstergo and the Animus in the modern day. October casting-report coverage (https://t.co/cInfCeaoXX) That is a different name, location, and period from the May account. Casting names can be placeholders. Material can also come from different versions of a project. Neither possibility gives us permission to stitch everything together and call it the final story. Right now, the exact lead and chronology remain unsettled. What happened to the supernatural abilities? Insider Gaming reported on April 27 that a cat-companion feature had been removed under the new creative direction. Its sources described a more grounded approach: someone understanding chemicals and using something like a smoke bomb could look supernatural to people who did not understand what happened. The same report said roughly 50 developers had moved off Hexe into Ubisoft’s Interproject team. These are reported development changes, not a public demonstration of the finished mechanics. April development report (https://t.co/MJ4zL6J6Qa) That would make a considerable difference to what this game feels like. Being hunted because people believe you are a witch is not necessarily the same thing as playing a character with actual magical powers. I want to see which direction they finally take before calling either one settled. The release-window rumors That April report mentioned an internal June 2027 target, with a possible move later in the year. In July, NateTheHate instead put the earliest arrival in the second half of 2027, as reported by Gamereactor. Those are reported estimates, not promises. July release-window claim (https://t.co/RUSOW61AiC) The official update already covered above does not turn any of those estimates into a launch announcement. I’m keeping the possible story, the reported development changes, and the release guesses separate until Ubisoft actually shows us more.
