Dead Kings — story challenges and crypt puzzles
Dead Kings is six story memories. For full synchronization, check the extra objectives before you start clearing rooms. A few ask you to stay out of combat, then later ask for a specific combat move. Pay attention to which section you're in.
1. Buried Words
Arno's looking for a manuscript in the royal crypt. The challenges are two cover kills and avoiding conflict. Treat a cover kill as its own action: get into cover and wait for the enemy to come into reach. A regular assassination beside a wall isn't the same thing.
2. The Book Thief
Find Léon and get him out. Avoid conflict during the infiltration, then make five perfect parries when the combat section arrives. Don't kill the last available opponent before finishing the parries.
3. A Shadow from the Past
Pass over or under three obstacles during the chase. This is a movement challenge, so look for the low obstacles instead of taking a completely clear route around everything.
Before Memory 4: complete the story-required Suger Legacy searches, Diabolus and Crux. The separate riddle list covers them along with the five optional searches.
4. Raising the Dead
Avoid conflict and perform one air assassination. Inside the crypt, the puzzles are the part to slow down for:
- Pressure plates: facing the four plates, number them left to right. Step on 3, 1, 2, 4, quickly enough that the earlier symbols stay lit.
- Cross-shaped brazier puzzle: from the entrance, light left, right, far, near. Leave the corner braziers alone.
- Rising pillars: use Eagle Vision to see the height markings, then raise each corresponding pillar to its marked height. The objective is matching the markings, not making all four pillars equally tall.
5. Under Lock and Key
Kill three rooftop enemies and land two headshots. The job starts with following Napoleon's lieutenant and ends with stealing the golden key. Get the roof kills while you're actually following the rooftop route; don't leave that requirement until you're already underground.
6. A Crown of Thorns
Perform two double assassinations and parry three attacks. Leave yourself living enemies to finish the parries. At the final brazier puzzle, face the locked gate and number the four braziers from left to right: 2, 4, 3, 1.
The ending isn't the whole completion checklist. There are still the Suger riddles, Franciade stories, outposts, co-op/heist content and collectibles. Don't confuse finishing Sequence 13 with clearing every category.

Dead Kings — the four Franciade stories and both murder mysteries
Dead Kings has more going on than the main story and Suger's sword. These six jobs are worth keeping together so you're not running back through the same streets wondering what you missed. There are solution spoilers below.
Last Will. Read Suger's will, then investigate his disturbed tomb in the royal crypt. The cross and leaflet point to the Dieu Résistant congregation. Back outside, rescue the former monk from the extremists and follow him. He leads you to the house holding the missing headstone and the rest of the will. The first document isn't the end of this one. Mission record (https://t.co/L7vtzBr8RD)
A Royal Hide. Follow the book clues, including the cemetery Bible and the tanner's journal. Find the tanner near the tavern and tail him. When he notices you, get past the guards and follow him to his house. Search the basement tannery, read the note, then use its well to reach the catacombs. The final fight is against the tanner and his raiders beside the bodies. Mission record (https://t.co/RSqdD8YtWF)
The Unopened Rose. Pick the tomb lock and deal with the raiders. Inspect Marie de Medici's sarcophagus and the two notes, then investigate the jeweler. Follow the trail underground, loot the bone key from his body in the cage, and return to the tomb. More raiders are waiting. Clear them, unlock the sarcophagus, and take the Rose Scepter. The Eyes of the King. Clear the cult gathering and read the grand master's note. Hunt the three guardians and loot their keys; killing them without searching them won't finish that step. Return to the underground chamber, unlock the room, and read Louis XIV's memoirs. Mission record (https://t.co/nu8a02Vonu)
Blind Justice
Start with the street victim in the Cemetery district. Collect the body and broken-glass clues and interview the witness. Check the square for the paper and street artist, then the bakery for the baker's statement. Return to the square; the artist is the killer, and the investigation turns into a confrontation. If he has moved, look southwest of the square among the crowd. Clue locations (https://t.co/nU3czTHJiT)
Equal Justice
Work through all four locations before accusing anyone:
- Courtyard: victim, recruitment leaflet, song lyrics, soldier's statement.
- Tavern, upstairs: another song and the old officer.
- Destroyed house, north of the tavern: second victim and murder weapon in the backyard.
- Market, east of those locations: women's-rights declaration, pamphlet, young musician.
The young musician is the murderer. Accuse him at the market and finish the fight. Clues and solution (https://t.co/ZSgUVB7zB7)
That's these six jobs covered. Keep the three outposts, Last Rites, Holy High Rollers, Suger riddles, and collectible cleanup on your separate Dead Kings checklist; finishing these stories alone isn't full completion.
