Black Flag: the rest of the collection cleanup Black Flag gives you a whole ocean to clear, but you don't have to treat every icon like a different guide. Start with the location count. Open the map and check what the island or town still needs. Synchronize its viewpoints, then mark one target at a time. If you're standing on the marker and seeing nothing, check the height. A rooftop, cave or underwater pickup can share the same patch of map. Shanties: These are the flying song sheets. Check the next roof before triggering one, then follow the route rather than lunging straight at the paper. If the chase goes wrong, step back and work out where you lost the route before making another attempt. Letters and manuscripts: Don't confuse the bottle icons with the guarded manuscript containers. They're lore collections, not Jackdaw upgrades. Read what you've picked up through the database if you're following the story behind the world, rather than just the completion number. Animus fragments: Work through them while clearing the same location's other items. Use the marker's height to figure out whether you need a climbing route, a drop or access underneath. For a high pole, look for the route leading toward the top instead of assuming the pole itself is climbable. Treasure maps: Finding the map and finding its treasure are separate jobs. Use the coordinates to reach the destination, then compare the drawing with the nearby rocks, buildings and shoreline. The drawing is the final clue. Keep an acquired-map list and a dug-up list so a map in your inventory doesn't get mistaken for a finished chest. Ordinary chests: Clear them alongside the more interesting finds. Underwater areas need their own pass once diving is available. Watch your air and the threats around the wreck; a chest isn't worth losing the whole run. Check the location counter again before leaving. Mayan stones and Templar keys: These have their own reward paths. All16 stones and all four optional key chains are listed in the armour section. Finish the collection and then actually open the reward room. Just having the last item isn't the same as claiming the armour. Ship plans: A plan unlocks the purchase; it doesn't fit the upgrade for free. Keep the plan destination list beside your Jackdaw checklist and buy the improvement afterward. That matters a lot more than buying another cosmetic while you're still getting destroyed in naval fights. I'd keep all of this together: practical cleanup, armour collections, then the ship plans. It's plenty to work through without making every ordinary chest its own post. --- Black Flag: Mayan stones and Templar armour Black Flag: all 16 Mayan stones This is the hunt that opens the Mayan outfit room in Tulum. There are 16 stones, and a few islands have two. Don't tick off the whole island after finding one. Climb each stela, activate Eagle Vision, and rotate the design until it matches the scenery. Then collect the buried stone. Solving the picture without collecting the reward isn't the finish. 1. Great Inagua: the story introduces this in Sequence 4, Memory 1, “This Old Cove.” 2. Cat Island, 734, 694: northwestern beach field. 3. Matanzas, 343, 642: southeastern lake shore. 4. Cape Bonavista, 179, 593: beneath the northern waterfall. 5. Tulum, 70, 405: climb the pyramid near the temple entrance. 6–7. Pinos Isle, 334, 476 and 342, 478: two stones. Check the ruined wall south of the viewpoint and the eastern ruins overlooking the flooded ruins. 8. Tortuga, 876, 377: northwestern restricted area, on the beach-facing cliff. 9. Long Bay, 525, 253: small rise left of the Observatory entrance. 10. Isla Providencia, 502, 44: southern ruins, southeast of the western viewpoint. 11. Isla Providencia, 502, 44: ruins west of the northern viewpoint's higher ruins. Those shared coordinates identify the island, not two stones standing together. 12. New Bone, 431, 116: northwestern field. 13. Misteriosa, 303, 199: temple ledge east of the viewpoint, facing south. 14. Misteriosa, 296, 196: small pedestal beside the western water. 15–16. Santanillas, 217, 245 and 221, 242: two stones. One is by the northwestern rock arch. The other is on the eastern stone shelf; approach using the southwestern sloping tree. If the story hasn't opened an area yet, leave that entry unchecked and come back. Once the progress tracker shows all 16, head to the Mayan Outfit marker in Tulum and open the door. That's Vault Raider, plus the outfit that protects Edward from bullets. --- Black Flag: finishing the Templar armour hunt The armour in Great Inagua needs five keys. The story supplies the first. The remaining four come from finishing the four Templar Hunt chains, not just meeting each Assassin. - Opia Apito: start on Cayman Sound, 327,334. Her chain moves to Grand Cayman, 397,324, then Pinos Isle, 335,469. Complete the hunting contest, steal Alvin's ledger, pursue Vargas by ship, then finish the Lucia Marquez mission. Keep ammunition for the jaguar encounter. - Rhona Dinsmore: Havana, 240,607. Defend the bureau, catch the thief, destroy the powder stores and finish Flint's End. Protect Rhona during the final pursuit. - Anto: Kingston, 623,172. Follow the information trail, free his allies, defend the bureau, then identify Kenneth Abraham with Eagle Vision in the final mission. - The Travers brothers: Nassau, 633,784. Continue through the brothers' dispute, the escort and tavern sections, then finish Queen of Pirates, Kings of Fools. The final targets are in western Nassau's swamp. Return to the armour cage at Great Inagua once those four chains are done. This is the Templar armour, not the separate Mayan outfit earned through the stone puzzles.
