Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood — what I’d upgrade first
Brotherhood isn’t about putting points into a giant skill tree. The useful choices are your equipment, your recruits and what you rebuild around Rome.
The crossbow would be high on my list. It costs 12,800 florins, so give yourself some income before buying every sword that shows up. Keep bolts stocked and buy a larger quiver when you need it. It’s especially useful for getting a guard out of the way before you’re spotted.
Leonardo’s upgrades are worth getting as his Sequence 4 missions open them up. The second blade handles two nearby targets, the glove restores the climb leap, and poison darts give you a ranged poison option. These are purchases, not abilities you unlock by grinding levels.
For combat, learn to carry one execution into the next target and counter anyone interrupting you. Practice in Virtual Training. Smoke can give you breathing room when a fight gets crowded. A better sword won’t fix ignoring the guy about to hit you from behind.
Keep your recruits working. Rescue the marked citizens as recruitment becomes available, then use the pigeon coops to send them on contracts with sensible success chances. Spend their upgrade points on weapons and armor. Remember that anyone away on a contract cannot help you in Rome.
When they’re home, use them. A call can remove a difficult target, and Arrow Storm uses all three signal bars against a group. Check the mission conditions first: an easy kill still isn’t full synchronization if you used the wrong method.
Reopen businesses in the districts you free and collect the income at banks. Then keep medicine, ammunition and armor repairs covered. Finish Leonardo’s war-machine missions for parachutes.
That’s the order I’d use: income, useful equipment, recruits working in the background. Keep it simple and give yourself more than one way through a mission.
