Brotherhood makes the collectible hunt a little easier to keep track of, but there’s one thing worth knowing before you start: not all of the flags are out in Rome. There are 101 altogether. Eighty-three are around the city, and the other eighteen are inside the six Romulus lairs. Three in each one. So if you’ve cleared the map and the achievement hasn’t popped, check the lairs before you start searching the same streets again. The DNA menu lets you replay them. I’d separate the timed full-sync run from the collectible run instead of trying to do both while learning where everything is. What belongs on the checklist - Centro: 26 flags. - Campagna: 26 flags. - Antico: 26 flags. - Vaticano: five flags. - Six Romulus lairs: eighteen flags. - Feathers: ten, tracked separately. - Subject 16: ten rifts and their puzzle clusters, also separate. Buy the collectible maps from art merchants when they unlock; collecting 25 flags is an early way to make them available. The flag maps mark the city collectibles, not a substitute for checking the lairs. Use Eagle Vision as you explore, and watch the elevation indicator when a marker seems to be directly underneath you. Ten feathers 1. Tiber Island area: high Roman ruins east of the viewpoint; approach the columns from the south. 2. Mausoleo di Augusto: entrance roof. 3. Pantheon: cross on the northern roof edge. 4. Palazzo Senatorio area: roof of the middle building overlooking the courtyard. 5. Trinità dei Monti: north side of the church roof; the early Rome mission takes you here. 6. Terme di Diocleziano: center of the empty bath. 7. Mercenary headquarters: central tower inside the compound. 8. Basilica di Massenzio: across the road southwest of its landmark marker, climb the intact column beside its broken partner. 9. Colosseum: northwestern outer lip. 10. Southeast from the Colosseum: lone column beside the road fork. Romulus lairs — three flags apiece The Halls of Nero — Terme di Traiano - After the four-switch floor collapse: left passage, then left to pedestal. - Beyond the fire/statues: upper-left recess; climb the opposite rubble. - Final chamber: after dropping both shortcut columns, climb to the wooden beam and look back toward the lower column. Wolves Among the Dead — Catacombe di Roma - Third early wooden platform: side passage. - After well/platform cavern: right branch. - Final cross chamber: eastern wall, pole, upper platform. Thrown to the Wolves — Il Colosseo - Opening bars: cross overhead beams into the enclosure. - Masquerade: right stairs, right again, drop beside dancers, then red curtains. - Horse chase: raised wooden beam. Leader of the Pack — Cloaca Maxima - First ambush: climb left to overhead beam. - Second ambush: upper enemy ledge, then left. - Final ambush: swim under bars, away from waterfall. The Sixth Day — Palazzo Laterano - First upper floor: left detour. - Chandelier-to-statue section: climb statue, turn right. - After the collapsing-floor climb, regain the solid ledge; cross the wooden flooring toward the flag ahead. A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing — Basilica di San Pietro - Storm-facing window during chase: white obelisk outside. - Third hanging lantern: left detour. - After cardinal: hang from exit beam, drop to lower beam. All ten Subject 16 rift entrances Use Eagle Vision to reveal each opening, then climb into it. The puzzle clusters arrive in sequence regardless of which building you visit first; these landmark labels are not puzzle numbers. - Pantheon: inside, above the entrance doorway. - Rosa in Fiore: north exterior wall near the roof. - Palazzo Senatorio: southeast exterior face; lower yourself from the roof. - Santa Maria dei Miracoli: north face of the tall viewpoint tower just west of the church. - Caserma di Alviano: outside of the eastern perimeter wall, facing the aqueduct. - Castra Praetoria: eastern wall of the innermost northeastern courtyard; reach it from the nearby hut and beam. - Aventino: north face of the hilltop Borgia/Assassin tower. - Acquedotto Claudia: north face of the aqueduct; approach along its top from the nearby tower. - Colosseum: upper northwest exterior wall, below the lip. - Castel Sant’Angelo: south face of the central structure, below/right of the round window. Replay Femme Fatale if access is blocked. The puzzle solutions follow in this collection. Finding the entrances alone does not finish the achievement. Five present-day artifacts Get these before finishing the present-day storyline. Only one is needed for Dust to Dust; the other four are optional collection goals. - Claudia’s book: floor just inside the room behind Desmond after receiving the watch/earpiece. - Maria’s feather chest: damaged section of the villa’s highest roof. - Mario’s sword: tree-side alley beside the white car, below the villa steps. - Medici cape: church reached through the alley beside the red car. - Ezio’s belt: small building roof to the right of Monteriggioni’s main gate. The Armor of Brutus The six lair scrolls are not the same thing as the eighteen flags. Complete the lairs for the scrolls, then use the marked treasury on the Palatine Hill to collect the armor. Picking up a flag does not finish a lair. Castel flagpole. Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood — the ten cluster puzzles Finding the rifts is only half of this. You still have to solve the clusters. These are in puzzle order, not tied to a particular building. For picture choices, count across the top row first, then the bottom. For sound waves, count left to right across each row. Ring 1 is the innermost ring; ring 4 is the outside. R means right and L means left. Start each ring solution from its untouched position and follow the moves in the order given—some rings move other rings with them. 1. Pictures: 1, 3, 4, 8, 10. Chess: E2 to E4. 2. Three ring pictures: - Ring 2: R2; ring 3: L3; ring 1: L4; ring 4: L4. - Ring 4: L2; ring 1: R5; ring 3: L4; ring 2: R5. - Ring 4: R1; ring 3: R5; ring 2: R4; ring 1: R3. Then move the F2 pawn to F4. 3. Scan the flag on the left turret of the Mount Washington building. For the cipher, align the wheel to its key, then enter the symbols for 2, 7, 9, 8. Watch the mirrored symbols: 7 and 9 lean in opposite directions; 2 and 8 are also opposites. Chess: F4 takes E5. 4. Pictures: 2, 3, 5, 9, 10. Rings: ring 3 R4, ring 1 R1, ring 4 R1, ring 2 L4. Chess: G2 to G3. Sound waves: 1 and 2. 5. Chess: queen D1 to E2. Scan the top of the upper-left picture. The four cipher answers, in order, are a half-filled circle with its white side on the right; four diagonal strokes; a rectangle divided vertically in two; a rectangle with an X inside each half. Compare the opposite symbols on the wheel when a slot is blank. 6. Scan the cameraman filming Yeltsin. Code: 20, 27, 33, 13. Sound waves: 1, 2, 4. Chess: knight G1 to F3. 7. Pictures: 2, 4, 7, 8, 10. Scan Justice Roberts’s hand in the main photograph. Code: C, M, Z, K. Chess: knight B1 to C3. 8. Rings: ring 1 R4, ring 2 R1, ring 4 L3. Sound waves: 1, 5, 8, 9. Chess: king E1 to F2. 9. Pictures: 2, 3, 6, 8, 10—the telephone-wire images. Sound waves: 1, 3, 6, 12. Chess: bishop F1 to G2. 10. Rings: ring 4 R5, ring 1 R2, ring 2 R2. Pictures: 3, 4, 6, 8, 10. Scan the eagle in the sky. Code: 89, 5, 334, 21. Sound waves: 1, 5, 9, 12, 15, 18. Take the king completely off the chessboard. Every cluster also ends with a quarantine search. Find the red targets with the detector, then select them quickly enough to keep the timer alive. The first nine clusters have 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 5 and 5 targets. The last one is a long spiral: follow it all the way instead of stopping after the first few dots. The point of keeping this in one list is that you can find the step you’re stuck on without scrolling through a separate post for every little puzzle.
