Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines — upgrades without overcomplicating it
Bloodlines doesn’t have the giant skill trees from the later games. You’re spending coins on practical upgrades: staying alive, dealing more damage and carrying more knives.
The starting upgrade prices give you a useful comparison. Five synchronization bars cost 25 points. Carrying four knives costs 100. The first weapon-damage upgrade starts at 200, and the synchronization-recovery upgrade is also listed at 200. Critical hits start with a five-percent chance for 75.
My priority would be health if I’m dying, damage if fights are dragging, and knives if I’m actually using them. A small chance of a critical hit would come after the things that help consistently. That’s my suggested order, not a requirement to finish the game.
The other part is learning the combat instead of expecting an upgrade to do everything. Counter kills, combo kills and stealth kills have separate accomplishments. Practice the one you’re missing rather than just charging into another group and hoping the counter moves.
Knives can be replenished at the safehouse, and used knives can be picked back up. That makes them worth using rather than hoarding forever. There was also original PSP-to-PS3 connectivity with ACII, but I’m keeping that old bonus system separate from the basic advice here.
