Bloodlines is the one that follows Altaïr after the first Assassin’s Creed. It came out for PSP in 2009, and it takes him to Cyprus as he continues going after the Templars.
Maria is part of this story too. That matters because when you’re following Altaïr across the series, you don’t just want the beginning and the end. You want to know what happened in between and how the people around him became part of his life.
This one stays closer to the basic idea of the original game: climbing around, tracking people, fighting and assassinating targets. It’s a smaller handheld game, not a full-sized console sequel, but it still gives Altaïr more room beyond that first story.
There was also an actual connection between the PSP game and the original PS3 version of Assassin’s Creed II. That’s something I want to keep separate from the newer collections. An old feature working between those two versions doesn’t mean the same thing carries over to every rerelease.
