Assassin’s Creed II: the extra chapters and secret locations
Before moving on from ACII, there are a few extra pieces worth keeping with it. The original release and later editions don’t present all of this the same way, which is why people remember gaps in the story or locations that someone else never saw.
Battle of Forlì fills Sequence 12. It released January 28, 2010, and takes Ezio back to Caterina Sforza, the Orsi brothers and the fight over the Apple. Bonfire of the Vanities fills Sequence 13. It released February 18, 2010, opens up Florence’s Oltrarno district and follows Savonarola’s hold over the city. Both chapters are included in The Ezio Collection.
There are also three Templar lairs:
- Home Invasion, Palazzo Medici in Florence. This is the rescue involving Lorenzo, rather than another Assassin seal.
- Over Beams, Under Stone, Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari in Venice. A climbing route through the church to a treasure room, available from Sequence 7.
- Shipwrecked, the Arsenal in Venice. The shipyard route leads to a Templar strongbox and becomes available from Sequence 10.
These are separate from the six tombs used for Altaïr’s armor. Their reward is treasure, so don’t keep looking for an additional seal at the end.
The Auditore Family Crypt is another separate location in Monteriggioni, available from Sequence 4 when that bonus content is enabled. It adds family history alongside the climbing route. If you’re interested in why the Auditore family matters beyond the immediate revenge story, this is the extra area to pay attention to.
Check the edition you’re playing before trying to fix a missing icon. Some of this was originally tied to special editions or Uplay rewards. The collection includes the single-player additions, but that isn’t a promise that every old PC or console entitlement still activates the same way today.
That’s the extra content I wanted to keep beside ACII instead of mixing it into Brotherhood. Finish the story chapters, check the secret locations you have access to, and use the DNA menu to see what remains on your own save.
