Assassin’s Creed II: finishing the Codex and the remaining collection The Codex is the one you have to finish before the final sequence. There are 30 pages altogether, but you’re not hunting 30 separate guarded rooms. Six are already on the wall and eight come through the story, including the four you collect around Monteriggioni during A Change of Plans. That leaves 16 city pages. Here’s where to look. These are landmark directions; use the scroll symbol on the in-game map for the exact doorway. Florence, five pages: - San Giovanni: near Palazzo della Signoria. - San Marco: south of Ospedale degli Innocenti, west of the tailor near the eastern gate. - Santa Maria Novella: near San Lorenzo. - Santa Maria Novella: near the church of the same name, east of the western city gate. - Southeastern Florence: the guarded building near the blacksmith and tailor; enter from its south side. Tuscany, two pages: - Both are in northern San Gimignano. Clear the two scroll markers inside the town rather than searching the surrounding countryside. Forlì, three pages: - One near the southern gate. - Two around Palazzo Comunale, including the northeastern part of town below the northern wall. Venice, six pages: - San Polo: northwest of Leonardo’s workshop. - San Polo: southern part of the district, near the blacksmith. - San Marco: north of the restricted area. - Dorsoduro: north of Santa Maria della Visitazione and its tomb. - Castello: eastern side of the district. - Cannaregio: eastern side of the district. Synchronize viewpoints while you’re collecting. By the final-sequence cleanup, the remaining pages are marked for you. Most are behind guarded doors. Hiring a nearby faction to pull the guards away is the straightforward approach; fighting them works too. Open the container inside, then take the pages to Leonardo to decipher. At the villa, place the pages on the wall. Turn on Eagle Vision and rotate them into a world map. Do the outside border and corners first, then match the continents inside. This is a rotation puzzle, not a search for a particular collection order. For ordinary treasure, buy the regional maps from art merchants and clear the chest icons district by district. Those chests give you money; they aren’t another feather hunt. If a marker remains, check the building’s ground-level entrances and roof before assuming it’s underground. Some villa treasures depend on restoring the relevant building. The six Assassin seals, eight villa statuettes, 100 feathers and 20 glyphs are covered in the earlier guides. Keep those lists separate from the Codex and ordinary cash chests so you know which counter you’re actually finishing.
